My persian cat Crystal's fur is so full of static, it makes her look so frazzled for the last few days. I brush her and she doesn't look as though I've brushed her at all!
After I set her down after I've been holding her even for just a minute my shirt is full of static from her.

How do I get the static out of her fur....I know she probably should have a bath, but it is just too cold here right now and there's a chill in the house that no matter how much I turn up the heat is still here. I don't want here to catch a cold.

Thanks for any suggestions!

What method do you use for heating your house? Your house may be too low in humidity. Grizzly's fur will get like that-we mainly heat our house with wood and it can get quite dry.

We have electric heat. The bottom floor is heated through pipes under the floor, I don't know if that is drying though.

I totally have the same problem with my three persians. I've found *constantly* running a humidifier in the main room they hang out in helps enormously. It's weird how well it works. The trick is to keep it running constantly. It doesn't eliminate it altogether though. When I groom them I still get shocked. I think I will try that Anti-stat stuff.
