Question for fans of the Gilmore Girls

Forgive me if this is a "duh" question, but I haven't seen the early seasons, only whatever is showing in reruns on ABC Family right now (the fourth I think?) Anyway, is Rory's real name actually Loralai too? A couple of comments in the show have made me think it is, but I'm not positive.

Oh yeah, she totally does! I love the show too. It's my new favorite show. I've been dropping not-so-subtle hints to my bf to get him to buy me the first 2 seasons on DVD for my birthday, so I can catch up.

As for Rory's name... yes her name is Lorelai, as others have said... the explanation given was that while in labor, Lorelai decided that it was unfair that fathers name their sons after themselves and women didn't so she was going to name her kid after herself.

Can't wait for new episodes! I've been in withdrawal, they've been teasing us for the past month about what's going to happen (not saying anything more so as not to spoil)!

Ah, got it. Hey, isn't Lorelai actually named after Richard's mother? I saw part of an episode where she was visiting (horrible, nasty woman) and I could have sworn her name was Lorelai too.

Totally! But wasn't it also great to see Emily get back at her by taking 2 hours to eat the last piece of broccoli on her plate? It was such a Lorelai thing to do.

YES I DID! I couldn't believe it! I always thought that deep down Mrs. Kim was a softy, but I guess I was wrong. Poor Lane.

I know! But judging from season 5, Lane seems to be doing pretty good for herself... sad that her own mother couldn't even try to understand her!
