LOL. nope as Kellye said, we use our legs. Geeze, it seems awful lazy to have drive up banks - we don't even go to drive up takeaways, even that seems lazy IMO. lol! what else can you drive up to?

Drive up coffee shops? What happened to going in and taking a nice long look at the selection available and then dining in and enjoying it. Can ya tell I'm flabbergasted?

Thats how I felt too
I would rather sit down and relax while drinking my coffee - can one really enjoy their coffee when they have to focus on their driving?

You were not in the wrong. Some people are VERY impatient! I know the type and have even dated them, and they drive me crazy. Thank goodness for finding a patient man. I have never heard him complain once. Although I can say one time Pizza Hut messed up our order and we waited for an hour and a half and STILL didn't have our pizza. The place wasn't THAT busy, probably about 1/4 full. The waitress came and said something about the cook losing the order or something and that we would be getting ours soon, 45 minutes after she said that we saw that everyone that came in after us was leaving. We left too. Guess we got free drinks and breadsticks. How hard is it to cook a simple pepperoni pizza?

Hmm, let's see.... here we have drive thru fast food joints, dry cleaners, pharmacies, and the latest craze is for all the sit-down restaurants to have a place to pick up from your car, too (like Chili's, Bennigan's, Outback, etc.)

I've got the kicker for drive-through...I've seen drive through liquor stores! No kidding! Somehow that combination doesn't mix well in my mind.

It would be one thing if she took like 1/2 hour to fill out the forms, but filling out one little slip really doesn't take more than a minute. The guy was a jerk.

Did you smile sweetly and wave as you pulled away and he was still waiting in line?

some of you from the midwest and south may know what i am talking about, but Braums, it is a fast food store but it is also a grocery store... and in the drive thru you can order gallons of milk, bread, ice cream, and anything else that the store uses in its food, you can buy there...plus extra goodies
i worked there in high school, in the drive-thru...i was good at it, but my god it was a nightmare

What all of you are forgetting is that the US is a car society, especially here in CA. We practically live in our cars. Consider when someone spends 4-8 hours a day in their car then yes, they want to have drive thru everything. That said and done, there's a drive thru ATM out in Ocean Beach that people walk through too. You just stand in line with the cars. It's kind of weird.

How could you "get out of the way" when you were not yet finished with what you were doing? I understand being in a rush...living in a city will do that to you, which is why I prefer rural living. But sometimes you are the one waiting for someone else, sometimes they have to wait for you. Sometimes someone is just in a bad mood. Don't let it get to you.

Drive through liquor stores are par for the course in some states that I have lived in - Nebraska being one. And in Las Vegas you can have a Drive-Through wedding if you want! (I am not makaing this up)

I always try to have everything filled out before I get to the window and then once my transactions are done I'll pull to the side of the bank driveway and fill everything else out. But, I'll admit, sometimes if I'm in a rush I will have to fill my slips out at the window and usually apologize to the teller for not being prepared.

I have been known to stick my head out my window and apologize for being so long and then if they proceed to be an asshole I'll stick my head back out and tell them to piss off, then as I leave I proceed to flip the bird..........I'm sure bank tellers cringe when I drive up....lol

We don't have them either.

We have what we call cash points set in the wall where you put your card in, key in a code number and what money you want out etc...

I always have most of my slips ready to go...but I actually had to wait for the teller to come get the checks once I sent it...

I almost always have to use the drive-up window at the bank because the walk-in hours end by 3:00 pm and I work til 4:30 pm. I always write out the slip before getting there. That's just a matter of personal preference. No one enjoys waiting in line, but it's very rude to try to "rush" the person in front of you. You didn't do anything wrong.

Oh my today I went to the bank at lunch and had my deposit slip all filled out and everything signed and ready to go. It was a little busy as 2 lanes were open and both had 3 cars at them.. I picked the window one because i figured it would be faster.. OMG. not only did the 3 cars in the other line go before me, but the 3 cars that got in line after that also did!! I was livid and then I thought of this thread hehe. I figured it was the people in front of me who weren't prepared, but when I got to the window the teller miscounted my $$$ 2 times before getting it right and kept asking me if XXXX was the correct amt. So really it was the tellers fault. Ugh. And I don't get a long lunch so I was almost out of time
