Laureen, I think it's beautiful too. I never get tired of Bloedel Reserve. Maybe I will be married there someday!
Anyhoo~~~

So! we're gonna catch a ride up the Peninsula. Enjoy the scenery as we make our way through the Olympic National Forest and Olympic Mountains, which "shield" the Puget Sound basin, Seattle and all the ferries from the Pacific Ocean.

Where is everybody? Did you fall in the reflecting pool back there at Bloedel???

Notice the moss as we drive into the rainiest spot in the U.S.A......but the Peninsula has its own beauty, you'll see!

Good grief! Groan! Photobucket decided to go down right about now for an "emergency". Is Susan's new BF causing trouble???? ha ha.
So we'll be back on course hopefully soon and be on the Peninsula today, as tomorrow is something totally different for our last day.

ok we're back up and running. The vacation malfunction abated....

We're on our way! First class, baby!

As we drive thought the woods, we'll pop out from time to time at places like this. Roads are usually 1-lane and high up on the cliffs.

Lots of natural life out here.....

Good Afternoon guys! Do you like kitties?

The oldest tree on record on the west coast, this huge Cedar.

This is the Lyre River, one of my favorite fishing spots!

Hi Tina!
Bye Steph! We'll see you tonight for fresh Halibut right out of the Pacific!

As we make our way out of the woods of the Olympic Forest, we end up at the Straight of Vancouver ( as in Fran in B.C.) and this is what she sees from her side --looking at us.

Then it's on to the Whales! THERE THEY ARE!
*no Saba you were not a whale in your previous life!*

The are truly playful souls!

Here is how Neah Bay actually looks. Home of the Makah Indians.

LOL! Rigel, you're too cute. I must tell you that Pacific Northwest waters are frigid! We have numerous cases of hypothermia deaths each year. The waters are so pure and inviting, but cold. Puget Sound, on average is 45 F degrees and in the height of summer, only about 58 F degrees. In the winter, a person will die within 12 minutes of being in the water.
No bikinis around here unless at your house! Here that, Tina?

And Pixel!

HEY! LET'S GO GET SOME KAYAKS! it's such fun and we can view the whales and not bother them with motorized boats that are loud.

Sea-kayaking is very popular here on the Peninsula!

The Beluga White of Canada visits our waters once in awhile.

.....OMG! THIS IS SO CLOSE!

Orcas don't jump, they "breach".

I truly hope you've enjoyed whaling today!
We'll go on to our next destination for the night in a bit.
