Hi Laureen, you dirty dog in the back! Hi Rigel, and Susie and Jan! So glad you could join us for brunch. Isn't it decadent - having croissants by the hot spring?

As soon as we're done we'll take off for downtown Seattle and see some sights... wait for the others to catch up just a bit.

Seattle is home to a large number of very recognizeable names worldwide. We've got Microsoft and the world's richest man living right here (ya wanna see his house?) and it's also the home of Nintendo, Starbucks, REI, Boeing, Weyehaeuser Paper, Getty Images, K2 Sports, Jansport and a lot of other firms. Ya gotta learn how to call in your coffee orders the right way or bust! I do not drink coffee, therefore I am freaky.

Got yer walkin' shoes on? *Jasper holds up his thong*.

Rigel, puedemos caminar a Seattle. Vamos!

oh look, the sun is out now! very typical. Seattle averages about 75 in the summer and breezy...and about 45 in the winter. The climate is temperate and mild, but we are known for some hefty windstorms during the winter months. Weather is extremely changeable.

OUR CABLE CAR IS HERE NOW! This helps get up and down all the hills.

Seattle is surrounded by water on allk sides in the forms of lakes, canals, inlets and salt water areas. This is Lake Union, a major lake right downtown, where "Sleepless in Seattle" was filmed on a houseboat.

Many people commute in from other places on one of the many ferries crossing the Sound into downtown. This is a photo of my former neighborhood, before I moved to the country with Eric.

Ferry traffic and water is a mjor part of Seattle life. Communities are built around the water areas and it's hard not to find a house, even quite modest, without a view of some sort of water!

Notice downtown Seattle right nearby.

A beautiful, typical summer evening in Seattle.

I have been sailing quite a bit...dated a guy who lived on his boat, and one of my brothers who lives here in the area has a speed boat for waterskiing! (I said bring your ski boots!) LOL!. You can rent them as cheap as USD$30 per hr, and it's a lot of fun.
As soon as the motley crew catches up with us a bit, we'll go to our afternoon activity! Maybe all the croissants at brunch weighed them down in the hot springs.
