Well, Jasper, say thank you to Teufel for the Santa hat. Don't grumble. those horns did hurt!

Well, it looks like you may get to wear a beret instead, boy.

Waitaminnit! Paris? that means fresh croissants!

Ok, I'm hosting now!
Welcome to Texas - as the slogan goes, "It's a whole 'nother country!"

Texas is the 2nd largest state in the U.S. it's the largest in the continental U.S., the only larger state being Alaska. it's the only state whose constitution allows for a division into 5 smaller states if we so desire (i'm not sure why we'd ever want to!)
i live near the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, so that's where we'll be spending most of our time.

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
Years ago when my husband and i went for a weekend in London we got chatting to an elderly chap who was from Fort Worth!. He was really sweet and gave me a ring similar to the one he had on.

I've still got it somewhere?!.

Just thought i'd share that!!

BTW, Jasper T. - they do sell cowboy hats with the horns like the longhorns have on them - you'd probably like that!

y'all can get one, too - we're at the stockyards, & they have loads here!

Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District

131 E Exchange Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76106 · 817-626-7921

This district, located on the north side of downtown, once housed animals brought to Fort Worth for the livestock trade. With its decline, the area was declared an historic district and renovated to preserve the architecture and revitalize the neighborhood. These days, former barns and pens now shelter a variety of establishments, including shops, museums, hotels, bars and restaurants. Long-lived residents of the area are nightclub Billy Bob's of Texas, The White Elephant Saloon, Cow town Coliseum, and Stockyards Station. The visitors center located on Exchange Avenue can provide maps and detailed information about the area, along with schedules of local walking tours.

if they're cowboy (country/western) clubs, yep, they do!
line dancing is pretty easy. & the two-step (most common partner country/western dance step) is a foxtrot.. 2 steps one way, 1 step the other. very easy!
looks like you & i are the only ones here!

Hi Laureen!

Glad to see you arrived! Texas looks exciting! Tibby and Molly are practicing their line dancing steps, but can't get the clapping part (too much fur on their paws!)

Just popped in to say hello! I'll be back later after my Bacon Butty
and washing up!
