Good for your daughter - I hope it works out. I had some dealings with the DNA people at Leicester when I was working for hte International COmmission on Missing Persons that was set up here to find and identify the war victims. They are really world experts.

The ice show was Sleeping Beauty but I have no pix - come on, it was nearly 40 years ago! But I remember it was incredibly hard work - 2 shows a day and 3 on Saturdays. Sometimes we could hardly remember which Act we were in. We toured the North with it that Christmas season.

Beth, that's great!! Leicester is a good university - my sister is doing her PhD there and she loves it!

Now, I will show you the last little bits before I leave you for a while!
We head towards Old Trafford and here is Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

and Old Trafford Football Ground home to Manchester United (hisss! Booo!)

As we travel further, we arrive at the Trafford Centre
www.traffordcentre.co.uk

The Orient - the food hall section of the Trafford Centre. It is shaped like a ship and provides a wide variety of foods from Nando's to Baked Potatoes!

If you want to go anywhere, just ask Ringo - I am sure he will be more than happy to oblige!

Trafford Centre should entertain everyone!! You can visit the Cinese section for food, or New Orleans too?! There are lots of shops, restaurants, bars and a cinema to keep you all occupied!!

Have fun and i'll be back later to go for a Curry down in Rusholme!

Thanks for your good wishes Jenny- waiting to see if it all falls into place is exciting, but nerve-wracking.

Your ice show sounded like incredibly hard work. You must have been exhausted!

Oh good. Time for some shopping! Yes, the ice show was hard, but no worse than some other theatrical engagements I had then. I gave it all up in the end and moved to TV because it was just too much - there is only so long you can keep up 7 day weeks, often in a different town each week. But it is a wonderful life in some ways - full of friendship and hard fun just as much as hard work.

Good luck for your sister's PhD. What's the subject of her thesis?
I am not too sure what the subject is - a little confusing for little old me!

It has something to do with Quasi Chrystals, Topology and Mathematical planes - she's doing Pure Mathematics

Rigel, I am glad you like the pics!!

I could stay in the Trafford Centre all day, Sarah! That's so neat the UCI is the largest cinema in the country, and especially that you guys have some of the very same movies playing as we have here in the US!
The Orient just has too many restaurants from which to choose! Which do you recommend, Sarah? Sierra and I sure are getting hungry for lunch!
