We're at the Sequoia Grill at Ferguson Point in Stanley Park. (This meal's not going to happen in five minutes, so we'll still be here eating and likely boozing, too, when Danielle and the others get back.)

This used to be called The Teahouse, and originally it probably was just that, though as long as I’ve known it (close to 30 years) it’s been a nice full service restaurant. It’s owned by the same group as owns Seasons in the Park, which the folks who were on the first vacation may recall. They each do their own thing – beautifully. And the setting here is something else...

With towering trees in its backyard and the ocean at its front door, Sequoia Grill sits cosily at water’s edge on Stanley Park’s Ferguson Point. A true-Vancouver style of fresh local ingredients and cross-cultural cuisine influences, resulting in comfortable, contemporary dining with a difference: the best and longest sunset view.

• private function rooms
• lunch, weekend brunch, dinner & small plate menus
• signature cocktails & extensive wine list
• voted the best sunset view in the city
• heated outdoor patio
• 4 cosy fireplaces

Let’s check out this menu....

Well, no reason we all have to go shopping. Gsatown will be fun at this itme. More conventional shopping is even closer at Pacific Centre

And those who want to watch the sunset (we'll get it extended ) and continue imbibing can stay put at Sequoia.
