Hello everyone.

I have a situation that I am hoping other breeders may be able to offer some insight on. I have a Traditional Siamese female that was bred for the very first time back on December 8th. She was with the male for a few days. I know that the mating took place.

Lately we have been getting a little concerned that she was showing no real evidence of expecting a litter...no round belly, no enlarged/pink nipples. If expecting, she is due in less than four weeks. So, we took her to the vet today. He palpated her and said he didn't think she was expecting. He said he would have expected to feel something, other than her full bladder if she was due in a month. But, she hasn't come back in heat either since being with the male, and before that she was cycling every 2 weeks like clockwork. So, I am a little confused at this point.

In the four years we've been breeding, this has never happened. Has this ever happened to any other breeders out there? What might be causing this? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

I wouldn't worry about it. My youngest female was bred in October, 2004, she didn't get pregnant but she didn't come into heat until January. Some females just do that
I know many say that a female that don't become pregnant after being bred should come into heat about 3 weeks afterwards but I know many females that doesn't listen to that, they do as they wish

So don't you worry. She'll go into heat when she think it's time.
