Anyway tried this? Does it really work and how much should you give a cat per day and for how long?

I haven't ever tried it, but I have tried high fiber foods and that worked great. I have heard that 1 tablespoon of pumpkin mixed into the food will do the same thing. Give it a try, if it works you are going to be very happy. You have ruled out medical causes first, of course. If the diarrhea is related to antibiotic use, adding acidophilus or lactobacillus might be the ticket. Becky

He has been checked by the vet, no worms, no fleas. Eats Chicken Soup brand cat food. I am thinking of trying him on the moist food instead of the kibble. He has had all his shots, checked for feline leukemia, he was negative and been vaccinated against that. He is not on any antibiotics.

My kitty with diarrhea cleared up with hairball formula Natural Balance. But if increased fiber doesn't help, you need to check with the vet again. Sometimes it takes several stool specimens to diagnose giardia. In fact, if my vet can't find a reason for diarrhea she just empirically treats for giardia with metronidazole. It also treats immune related upset guts, too, making it a good choice if you aren't sure what's what. Becky
