This is totally wrong and disgusting that the VA legislature would even think about doing this .... Read the whole story here

Any opinions on this?

It gives me one more reason to be glad I live in Canada.

Methinks governments in the US are trying to dictate an individual's personal private life - to me that's just WRONG!

OMG thats horrible - a miscarriage is one of the worst things in a woman's life, and to add the jail time and a fine is just too awful. I hope it does not pass - there should be a petition against it.

Did anybody read the update that has been posted, via an email from the Senator?

Good LORD!

Did they even consider that some women that are having a miscarriage wouldn't have even known that they were pregnant? About half of Miscarriages are ectopic pregnancies less than 6 weeks. This can actually be no worse for the woman physically than heavy cramps. Should I report every menses I have as well?

"On a final note, your website advocates the use of emailing comments to my office. As for the emails that I have received, I have answered a few and will forward a similar explanation to those who sent them. I always seek to receive emails that express a point of view either in support or in opposition to an issue. The majority of emails I have received from this site, however, have been extremely abusive, condescending, and mean-spirited. That is never the way to communicate with another person and I hope that civil discourse would be your desire as well."

A gentle rebuke, eh?

That is certainly mor reasonable, but I agree. the way it was originally worded was really.... -.- not as narrow.

Well, I appreciate his response, however, I think he REALLY needs to narrow the scope, as he said. Someone in his position really should be more clear with what they say. They have teams of technical writers working for them (which I may be some day ) and these technical writers should produce something that says exactly what it means. That is their job. Makes me wonder if the bill was really all that misunderstood.

I agree! How stupid can you be????
