Well, my house has had a mouse problem for a bit. It's part of the reason dad let me get a cat. -.-; But we honestly didn't think she'd hunt this young ((10 weeks)), or be able to actually make the kill.

Surprise surprise - she brought my dad's shoe a present this morning, freshly killed. Not stiff at all.

Oddly enough, she didn't bring it over to me, who she's closest to - she brought it to an empty shoe. *blinks*

But, anyway, I'm not all that surprised that she was able to at least successfully hunt the mouse - she's been practicing hunting since she came home. ^.^ Pouncing and biting ((my hand, unfortunately, no matter how much I try to distract her)), for the most part, along with stalking and pouncing.

It's just... I thought cats normally didn't successfully hunt until they were a bit older than two and a half months?

A prodigy!
Maybe putting it in your Dad's shoe was her way of presenting it to him, and she knows he's the boss of the house.

I don't know at what age they usually hunt. Maybe someone will come along here who does.

*nods* She got some more of her wet food, since she doesn't seem to like any of the treats we've gotten her. ^.^ And then she went and roughed up her mouse toy.
