has anyone else noticed problems when they give their kittens the stuffed morsels?
ive given my cat 2 different brands/flavors and she always gets really foul diarrhea that resembles peanut butter. im not sure if shes got food allergies or tummy troubles since she poops all the time anyway.
the food ive had trouble with is kit n kaboodle and special kitty. she eats the reg. special kitty and pouches without problems

I haven't used either of those, but I can't say I'm surprised
Cat treats and foods that have cutsey fillings, special colors etc. have preservatives and colorings and other additives that just aren't the best for any cat's digestive system!

I agree. The ingredients in Special Kitty foods are no better than Meow Mix, 9 Lives and the other store name brands. Also, too much treats can lead to an upset stomach (learned that the hard way with Miko).

While I was buying groceries today I looked at some cat foods I have seen people mention here that they feed their cats. One of them, I am not sure which, had 3, three, types of grain before any meat and that was of course meat by products. I can't imagine what a cat fed that stuff must feel like inside. And the litter box must be truly foul. All of the foods that I looked at had several sources of carbs and listed no meats first. Poor kitties. Becky

she wont eat it, wont eat Iams, purina, etc. its special kitty or nothing for her. she actually looked at me and kicked her bowl over with Iams. i tried mixing them with special kitty, she ate AROUND the others.

and the listing on my bag of special kitty has better things in it than i eat. meat is the 1st ingredient. rice, soy, and beef tallow are the only others.
(and before you complain about beef tallow you eat it regularly at mcdonalds--its the 1st/2nd ingredient in almost everything lol)

My concern with that would be the soy. It is not a complete protein for cats and yet it is used in the total protein content on the bag. Say it says that the food is 30% protein, how much of that total amount is from soy, that won't provide all the essential amino acids that your cat needs? You just don't know. That is why I prefer a food that relies on meat sources for all the protein content in the food, without corn gluten or soy or any other protein sources. Becky

You sure its not a Bi-Product? of meat. I havent been able to even find special kitty online for any comparison. But I will have to take myself to walmart tommrow to look at a bag but i can almost promise. that meat is a biproduct not true meat. Special Kitty is a fairly low grade food.

Might sound like tough love, but health wise I would switch her to something healthier..she will eat it if she gets hungry enough..
