Hi

well I seem to be past the food poisoning (some might remember I asked about it) but I am still wiped out. Its'like someone pulled on my insides a little too hard and they need to bounce back.

Sometimes I think of the mind body connection. It seems lately I have been doing things against my spirit, spending time with people I don't like, and doing things out of guilt that are empty. Case in point the day I got sick I spend time with a friend who is a real loud mouth and all the talk comes back to about her. I had been avoiding this encounter but since
I was feeeling guilty I thought "oh just once", and then it's like nature was telling me "Just once is a lot" cause I ended up sick.

I am not saying that is why I am sick, but it can make your immune system less strong.

Its' tough but I think we all have to be true to ourselves in order to live the lives we are suppose to.

I often think that the mind controls an awful lot about what happens to your body. I have noticed lately that my hubby gets a lot of headaches just as we are about to do something he doesn't want to do (for example visit my parents). I also find that if there is something I really don't want to do, I end up feeling sick or catching something. The mind is an awesome tool and it can also be used in Mind over Matter. Hopefully the power of positive thinking will help me during labour!

Yeah it's like our bodies are this big barometer. Like yesterday I went in to the office briefly and got a message from someone who I don't care for and I got sicker again. Now at work we don't have a choice but in our home lives we have more so.

I know we can't control everything but I think we owe it to ourselves to
do as much as we can.

Boy ain't that the truth? From giving birth to conquering something horrible (illness) or dealing with rude/angry people... how you feel in your head is the only thing that'll get you through!

I can't say that I think a sick mind or bad thoughts make you sick though... I was on top of the world mentally/spiritually/emotionally when I came down with a very severe case of pnuemonia. Woke up with a fever & cough and was in the hospital 10 days later. Some virus got ahold of my lungs and just about shut the suckers down!!!

Remember with food poisoning you need to get yourself rehydrated... that's the key to getting well in the first place. If you have to go to the hospital (have you???) and get an IV, do it... it saved my freaking life recently.

I didn't go the hospital but have been drinking lots of water and having soup
so I think I am hydrating ok.

Food poisoning is no fun at all.
It works the other way around, too, meaning when you're physically unwell, it affects your relationships with others, your temper, patience, etc.. I've been extremely irritable ever since I dislocated my shoulder over two weeks ago. The pain didn't disappear after a few days like it was supposed to, and I finally went to the doctor today, because I can't even stand myself at the moment - tendonitis (at least I think that's what he said - I haven't looked up the term yet, but I know "Sehne" is tendon)!

Yeah tricia that sucks. Tendonitis is a inflamation thing right? So you can get the swellin gdown and that should help with the pain.

Yes if we don't feel well we can't really relate properly to others. I even think it's a law of the jungle thing, when we are sickly we are more vulnerable and thus feel a survival instinct to push people away.

After what happened to me I am more in survival mode and saying no more easily to things I don't want to do.

oh yes, Marge, so very true. To me, personally, this is such an integral part of deep spirituality. One must connect the mind to the body; a heart isn't inside a head, you know, and your brain doesn't sit underneath your ribcage either. It's not just about physiologies, it's about the omnipotence of the complete person.

P.S. I hope you feel better soon, too. I am sorry - I should've said that right off the bat!

Hope you're feeling better!

Just wanted to add... I've had many instances where I didn't want to go to work/school and I've managed to give myself a tummy ache or a headache. Kinda bites because then I REALLY feel sick and I can't enjoy the time off! So yeah, I think there IS a strong connection between the mind and body, though that's not saying that everyone who is hurting is making themselves sick, ya know?
