One thing I wonder about though....if the hippo is so young...wouldn't it still be nursing? I know the 100 year old tortoise can't provide THAT!

Wow! I love stories like that. I just saw one in a German magazine about a 10-week-old, orphaned lynx that has been "adopted" by a hunting dog in the Czech Republic. A documentary is being made about the relationship, to try to discourage people from shooting any lynx they see.
