In the past one and a half weeks or so, I have been experiencing nasty bouts of dizziness and faint feelings on a rate of several times a day... in fact I was in one just a few minutes ago, where you kinda feel for several minutes that the entire house is moving around. Think of it as when you get in an office chair and start moving 360° degrees for a minute or so.

Now, those of you who have followed my posts since long ago, will know that I have a past of severe hypoglicemia. So, the first thing my gut feelings tell me is "VÃ:censor:ctor, get that glucometer and test your blood sugar, RIGHT NOW!"

And I've done it almost every time I feel like that, but always my sugar is no lower than more or less 110. And it is not happening before I eat, it happens at times after I eat, other times before, other times far from meals.

Call me crazy, but it isn't the fact that I am having feelings that I am going to fall to the floor because of the dizziness what is driving me anxious, but its the fact that it doesn't seem to be related with the hypo. Because I don't know beforehand what to do to solve it nor I have any idea what is it.

I ain't liking it in the least, and it seems to be slowly getting worse... I am right now on the idea of talking my parents into going to the doctor (I am hoping it will just dissapear, but it doesn't seem like its doing so)... In the meantime does anyone have any idea what might it be? experiences?

Hi Victor,
Sorry you're having those nasty spells.
My mother gets bad dizzy spell, where she swears she is falling even though she's sitting still or that the room is spinning. The doctor said it was vertigo and gave her some pills to help the dizzines. But along with the dizzy spells she also breaks out into a sweat and gets very nauseous (sp?) as well.

Might be best to get to the doctor just to see what's going on. Could be virtego or something else that needs medical attention.

Hope your dizzy spells stop soon.

Victor, I really think you should go to a doctor before it gets worse... The longer you wait the worse it'll be... I've been getting really severe panic attacks... I can feel them coming and can't do anything to stop them.. I cant breathe and I start hyperventilating... Then I burst into tears and there's nothing that I can do to stop it... I just have to go through it... Adrian is usually with me and he's really good at talking me out of them but I had one by myself on Tuesday and I thought I was gonna pass out... When I told Adrian he told me that I have to go to the doctor because it's only gonna get worse.... So, take his advice! Go see a doctor! And, keep us posted! I hope you start to feel better...

Victor, I think it sounds like vertigo. I had an inner ear problem once that made me feel dizzy, or like everything around me was spinning, and sometimes I felt like I was falling even though I wasn't. The doctor prescribed some pills that lessened the severity of the symptoms, but the problem had to resolve on it's own. Please go to a doctor to find out why you are feeling this way. Hope you feel better soon!

Stormy's right, this could be vertigo. It could also be low blood pressure (something I have). You should see a doctor. There is no reason for you to feel this uncomfortable. I hope you feel better soon. Please keep us posted!

Victor,

I had bouts of vertigo last year. It can be so many things. One of the first things they may check for first is to test to see if the fluid in your ear is in balance because this can cause your rollercoaster rides. Mine went away, (thank heavens _and it was not my ear. I swear to this day it was just a reaction I was having to some stress in my life. The doc thought it really had something to do with some migranes I was having at the time. Do you get migranes? Vertigo can be caused by migranes.

Vertigo? I had wondered for a while what was the name in English for "VÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]rtigo"....

I got to have an ear infection which caused a nasty migraine many weeks ago... could that have to do with it? Its starting to sound weird...

I will see if I can go to the doctor... I am even starting to feel dizzy again at this instant. I hate going to the doctor so much, I often hold it to the last minute.

A question... and this is a question I always ask myself... what do I tell him?

That's a definite possibility. Your balance is in your ears (I can't think of a better way to say it...
), so it's possible you could have some swelling or fluid in the ear that's causing this.

Just tell your doctor exactly the symptoms you are experiencing, and also let him know you recently had an ear infection.

Well... I have felt a lot, for quite a while now, that my ears are a bit blocked... Particularly the right ear... but with cleaning it would go away, but it come back quickly only in the right ear...

Your ear infection may be unresolved and coming back. I do not know if you are prone to them, but my son is, ever since infancy, so much that he has developed an immunity to some of the antibiotics commonly used. Also, did you take all of your medication the last time you had the infection? You must, or the infection is simply suppressed for a time and then flares up again.

If you had a sinus infection or sinus problems a few weeks ago, it is a good possibility that you have an inner ear infection. I went through this about 2 years ago - and I also have diabetes. My blood sugars were alright but the dizziness continued. I went to the hospital and stayed overnight because I couldn't stand. Once the antibiotics kicked in, resolution happened very quickly. So, yes, see a doctor as soon as you can.

Good luck -I hope you feel better soon.

Well, I forgot to take the last two days of the medication, if thats any help. I haven't felt that dizzy today, although I have had my episodes... just not as bad.

I am right now trying to convince my mom this isn't going away with just eating a candy bar, which is the first thing she asks me to do whenever I tell her I feel dizzy.
