Well the north of Scotland has officially hit hurricane status - we have windspeeds well in excess of 100mph... the roof of a major supermarket here has come off... a 70 foot tree is now lying sprawled across my back garden and two others, pulling down a power line to rest on my back gate (live power line and a wet gate.... can you see it staying live for long?) It looks like I was right to be worried about those trees - we were very lucky it didn't come through the roof. The inside of my porch is just drowned where rain has been blown in under the front door, the river is just about to burst it's banks and there's a person still missing from the area. The whole house was shaking last night - and that must have taken a helluva a lot to do, because I'm in a terraced place, so it means that the wind would have had to be shaking FOUR houses! And apparently we're in for worse to come. I've taken my little boy to stay with my mum until the rest of the weather passes. I don't know how the rest of the country has fared, but certainly Moray has been hit quite hard.... hopefully we'll be safer now that we're only on one floor....
