Hi all,

I've been joining in on some of the fun games and polls, but was waiting to do an official "hello" until my new kitty came home and we got some pictures to share.

My name is Joanne. I'm 27 and live in San Diego with my husband and our new kitten, Chloe. We adopted Chloe on 12.31.04 but had to wait until 1.9.05 to bring her home from her foster mom's house. Talk about the longest wait ever! But now she's home and we're so glad!

We found out about a local no-kill rescue organization called Cat AdopTion Service (CATS) via petfinder.com. One of the foster moms from their organization captured and rescued a feral cat and her (second) litter. Chloe's brothers were adopted out together, leaving Chloe on her own. Since Chloe doesn't do well around other cats we were able to adopt her because we had no other pets and were looking for one special kitty we could devote our attention toward.
Despite being a bit shy and jumpy, she's smart and adventurous. We're getting a real kick out of her.

Thanks for being so kind and welcoming in my first week on the board. I heard about this site from another message board I use and they were absolutely right - you are all so nice and helpful!

Here are a few pictures of my new little sweetheart.

So you settled on the name Chloe? That's great, she's such a cutie - a little unsure about the camera, but definitely sweet!

Glad your kitty finally came home and glad you formally introduced yourself! Welcome!

What a sweet kitten. Why does she need to be herself? Is it just for now? Or will it be for life thing? I know some cats can only be the one cat in the house, but she seems so young, will she outgrow it or will she always be the only kitty. btw I love the name .

Hello Chloe,
We are so glad that you came on the "boards" to meet! We love new kittens... We love to keep our fur mommy busy by running around, chasing our toy mice, and eating lots of kitten food .. We even walk on her head at night...
Welcome to the board..... Purrrrrr... Meow.......

Thanks everyone! Chloe is relaxing and feeling more at home - definitely more bold and adventurous as each day passes! I have a feeling the house is going to be hers in no time!

I don't know if this is something she will grow out of or not, but she definitely does NOT like other cats right now. In fact, she's been attacking her reflection in the mirror the past couple of days when she sees herself. I'm hoping she'll figure out soon that there really isn't another cat there!
