Why are men in Mexico supposed to be shorter?
I think hispanic/latin men are just generally shorter than caucasian men--my mother's side of the family is from Puerto Rico and most of the men are shorter than what we think of as average. My brother is about 5'7" I think.

Well I'm above average at 5'9"!
But sis likes to remind me she is 5'10"

BTW, my maternal grandmother was 4'11" but would stand up straight and declare she was 5'
(Grandpa was 6'2"!)

When the maternal cousins get together, we range from 5'3" to 6'8"!!

Our Ntive american stock is also shorter as well. If you follow anthropology, you'd find that genetically, native americans and mayans and incans are comprable to polynesians and mongolians. so, just as asian standards of height differ from ours greatly, so do Native Americans and others of similar lineage. We have as americans homogenized so much that we are a general average of dimensions (IE in general we are shorter than the scandinavians, but taller than the asians) Also our roots as eastern europeans were a fairly average sized person.

The ratio of races in other parts of the world has pretty much maintained itself, so they stay the same height as they were and maintain the same features as were originally prominent.

I took a great deal of anatomy and anthropology at some point.. lol sorry to nerd on you.

Most of my native family members are HUGE!!! On my native side, the men are way taller then my white side. I always thought that natives were just tall.... My biological grandfather on my mom's side (He was Irish, and very short.)
