With all the things going on in the world and the possibilty of a lot more I have begun to stockpile a few things. Every time I go to the grocery store, I pick up an extra can of something, a bottle of water and some cat supplies. Not a lot, just a little at a time. My significant other would say I am being paranoid, but I say if, God forbid, anything happens over here or we begin to have shortages, we paranoid folks will be the ones eating and drinking. It is stuff that won't go bad, we will eventually use it anyway. Any opinions?

Hi there KrazyKat :angel2:

I don't think you're being paranoid. Personally, I think you're behaving like a very responsible person. There's nothing like preparedness...but, that's just my opinion

Let's look at the large picture within any county...there is an Emergency Management Division that has to think of many things that are possible in order to mitigate any possible disaster or minor event. They have to have training drills...etc..etc...Very smart of you...

That is a good idea.

I had a friend who was making fun of a woman who was stockpiling food and water. She said she would have things to eat and drink if there was a terrible disaster in the country. He told her well what will you do if I come over and steal it away from you. If everyone is hungry, you would be the target. She didn't like his answer but she started thinking in ways of protecting her supplies. This was about 7 years ago and I don't know if that woman is still doing it or not.

Here in Florida we have to be prepared in case of a hurricane so you would fit right in with your supplies.
