Hello all. I'm also new to this site, which was recommended to me by a few other folks on another message board I frequent.
I'm Sabrina, 27, live in Chicagoland with my fiance, and have one cat, Hobbs.
Hobbs will be 6 in March, is a short haired domestic. He's tawny colored, with slightly darker stripes and a ring tail. He's 100% trouble, but I love him. I got him when he was six months old from a friend's aunt who had enough cats to get a volume discount at the vet. (Seriously) She always said I could go pick one out, but he picked me out. He had a hard time adapting to not having other cats around, but now he likes being an only child. I think it's the food. He was SOOO skinny when I got him. Last Thursday at the vet he weighed in at 17.5 pounds, though that was him inside the cat carrier, and I'm not sure how much that weighs. He's definitely not skinny any more! I wouldn't say he's really overweight, but he's not slim either. He absolutely loves to cuddle and get attention. He always greets me at the door and likes to meet most new people. He's a little skittish around men (and Vets, no matter what gender they are) but he usually warms up to them. If you pet him, he's your best friend. I've had cats all my life, but he's very different. In addition to liking strangers, he'll let me flip him over and hold him like a baby with his belly pointing up. He doesn't mind it at all. Also, if he's sitting on or near me while I'm watching TV I can move around or change positions and he doesn't mind. He just waits for me to settle back down and then he'll go right back to his spot. He's been pretty healthy, though he has had a problem with ear mites (got some meds for that from the doc) and he's had urinary tract infection problems. Right now I have him on special food and he got a flowing water fountain for Christmas, he's hasn't had a UTI problem for quite awhile, but I want to keep it that way!
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and Hobbsers.
