I have been researching all natural cat foods and came across a website called www.holisticfood4pets.biz it promotes a cat food called Life's Abundance. I also have a dog and did extensive research on his food (Blackwood 3000), the ingredients in the L.A. dog food is very comparable to the BW3000, but with my cat being 10 years old, I worry about changing his food. However, what we have him on now, Nutro, his stools are not solid & they are very oderiferious... has anyone heard of Life's Abundance or uses it currently?

Thanks, happyscrappy!

This is supposed to be a premium food but they recommend their supplements to be given with it. Solid Gold does the same thing. I don't think the ingredients are anything different from other decent foods.

I've received some free samples that Baylee liked and I was looking into it more, but I wouldn't want to give supplements AND food - too much money.

It looks good to me but I also don't like having to order online, you know?

I don't mind ordering online since I have to go out of my way to go the the local pet store that sells premium foods anyway.

I would say it is a high quality food that is good as far as dry food goes. But it is impossible to make a dry food that is low in carbohydrates and cats don't need carbs. So, while it is a good dry food, it is not the best food for cats. And I also don't see why they recommend the supplement, they should just make an adequate food from the start. And the supplement is just like the dry food, in little kibbles, so it isn't a matter of not being able to provide the nutrients due to processing, since it is processed the same way. Becky

Thanks, happyscrappy!
I've tried this brand with Miko and he refused to eat it. My cousin tried this and it didn't work well for her either. Also, if their ingredients are as good as they promote it to be, why would you need additonal supplements?

Thanks guys for all of advise, as a new member I have thouroghly enjoyed this forum!

I was thinking the same thing, if it's so good why would you have to add supplements??? I've decided on California Natural.

We've goten it as a prize recently, and I'm relatively pleased with it. It is a better fod than say, Iams, but I also don't trust a food that requires supplements 9but I'm not complaining, mind you) I think we're switching to nutro after this, though

I have Charlie on Nutro now, I think it's a good product, but I think it's too rich for him. His stools are not solid and they are VERY oderferious... I'm a spoiled cat mommy. My husband has always changed the cat litter... well, the litterbox is in the office and when I'm online & Mr. Charles has to use the potty, I have nearly passed out... even my dad commented on it while he was here for Christmas & that man (God love him) is not one to talk about foul odors coming from the body!
I insisted we buy Crystal Clear Pearls Litter & that has helped tremendously & I picked him up some California Natural at the petstore. It's supposed to be good for animals with sensitive digestive tracks.

Just wanted to say that Baylee's been on Nutro Natural choice for quite a few months now and she's doing great... I think she was a bit stinky for a while but then she got used to it and now it's not more stinky than normal (well it was last week but it turned out she had a parasite).

Good luck with California Natural though... I think I thought about trying that for her but I forget why I didn't.

Boy this is an old post. Not sure you will even get it...lol I have used lifes abundance for 12 years and my cat's love it!

Ingredients are good but it is abit pricey. However, a 161/2 lb bag is about 38.00.  They ship it overnight so it never

sits on the shelf. I highly recommend it.

You can order a small sampler package that includes a can of wet, dry, and a snack pack.

There's some sort of buying program that gives discounts, I forget exactly how it works.
