An interesting start to my day!

This morning, I woke up, looked at the clock and it said 9:19 and I thought it was strange because Peedoodle usually wakes us by 7am. Mmm..something's not right.

So I get up, and in the darkened room, I see Peedoodle lying on the floor near Jake's side of the bed. In order to see better, I open the blinds and look over at Peedoodle.

He is laying on the floor, staring at a mole. Yes, a mole.

I had to go over there and see what was up - yep, he had caught a mole and it was still alive - gasping for breath.

I brought it here into the living room and showed Jake - who couldnt believe it either.

I released the mole outside, and immediately washed my hands.

I followed Peedoodle all day, trying to figure out where that mole came from - searched high and low for an opening, when finally he showed me - it was at the bottom of the wall, inside a bookshelf that is built in. I opened the bottom of the bookshelf and found there was an hole in the foundation. Mmmmm, seems some work is in order to patch up those holes (naturally occuring cracks, that is, that had chipped off and gotten bigger).

When I saw Peedoodle looking at the mole, it was obvious he had just caught it, but was not sure what to do with it.

Wow! How interesting! You know, I'm not sure I'd recognize a mole if I found it in my place! Lol... how fun though!

Oh dear, poor mole! It sounds like it was breathing its last.
Anyway, Peedoodle did a good job catching the dark prowler.

Way to go, Peedoodle! I'm sure you told him, Kellye, what a wonderful job he did catching his mole! Sure am glad you found that hole!

LOL! I've heard about Moles, they sure do sound cute! Good ole Peedoodle! You know Kellye I was at my friends the other day and she has a cat called Pepi and I SWEAR it was your Peedoodle and I kept calling him Peedoodle, poor kitty was confused!

Yech! A mole??? I would have freaked! They can call it a mole if they want, but it's just a blind rat to me! Peedoodle would have gotten many special treats from me for such a catch! I was proud of my cat when she flushed out a millipede!

I would've fainted if Patches or Tiger caught a mole...I dont think i've ever seen one. On the telly of otherwise .... I faint at the sight of a mouse. I am such a wuss when it comes to these things .

LOL - luckily you're not too squeamish! I'll bet Peedoodle had been watching that hole for weeks, just waiting for Mr. Mole to come out. Our neighbors had one in the cellar wall - it was really strange.

Max says he will come over and show Peedoodle what to do after you catch one of those things.

Since I don't let them outside anymore, Max is now looking at our bookshelves.

Yep! Thankl goodness I am not too squeamish lol! I indeed did give Peedoodle extra treats and lavished him with attention which he seemed to love!

Good for Peedoodle! I've never seen a mole - how interesting.

Moles are cute - until you step onto one of their burrows in your landscaping.

One of our cats would play with a mole by throwing it up and catching it before she would eat it. We even had a dog who would dig them up and play, but not eat them. Jasper prefers mice.

This morning, we found a worm. I guess he thinks hes a great hunter now. You should have seen hubby - he stood about 3 feet away and said "WHATS THAT?" I told him it was a worm and to suck it up and throw it outside Sometimes I wonder who the male in this household is

Ha ha Kellye! Very generous of Peedoodle to share!

We have moles in our front lawn. The dig these little holes all over. Sasha goes a but nuts when he's out there and detects any movement undergroud. He puffs out his chest real big and starts staring down into the holes like a big bad troll they won't be able to get by.

Wow, how strange. Sounds like your morning certainly was intresting. Good thing you found out where the mole came from! Looks like your little guy did a good job helping you out, but I hope the mole is alright.
