Hiya,
first of all i'm new to this site but i had a look at the forums and new i'd have to add this site to my favourites as i'm now the owner to a gorge little cat (very first pet cat) called Fidget.
Anyway my problem is that i think fidget is in heat, she has the symptoms such as frequent miowing, rolling around the floor, and being more affectionate and lazy. At first i thought it could be the result of an injection she got at the vet the other day but recenty stray cats around my house have started mating.
Fidget is about 9 months old and we got her off a person selling her in the market, she's completely healthy and is very tame, however when she started acting strangely i had too look on the net as soon as i could and i found this site.
The vets recommended her being spayed and said they would do it in a month when she's due for her next injection. The problem is not only is she very annoying at night and that locking her in the hall makes me feel awful but im worried that she may be to old or that a month is too long to wait. Any additional info on what to do to make her more bearable(poor creature) or more comfortable would greatly help. i also would like to know if it is common for her eyes to look watery during this 'heat'.
Thanx sooo much , i'm sure this is not going to be my last post!

Can you call the vet back and see if they have an earlier appointment for her to be spayed? I can assure you that she is not too old to have this operation done. I can't give you an answer about the watery eyes during heat, so hopefully someone else can give you an answer.

Welcome to the site.

I also can't tell you for sure what is causing the watery eyes, but I agree with Russian Blue that sooner is better than later for spaying. Not sure why the vet wants you to wait, but you should ask and also tell him/her about Fidget's eyes.

Welcome to TCS and hope to hear from you again. Fidget is a lucky kitty to have someone who loves and cares about her so much!
