Thank Colleen, I'd be happy to answer (you went easy on me
)

1. What grade/ subject do you teach? Why did you choose that particular grade and/or subject?

I am in my second year of teaching. I currently teach Kindergarten. The grade basically chose me.
I have wanted to teach elementary school kids ever since I was 15 but when I went job searching a position in Kindergarten was all that was open. So far I really love it. I get to teach kids how to read, which is one of the most amazing gifts I think you can give a child.

2. Do you have any brothers or sisters?

I have one little sis. She is still in HS and turned 16 years old a few months ago. She is an avid golfer and is the 'celebrity' of the family. Her ultimate goal in life is to play for the LPGA. I hardly see her cause she's always on travel for all her tournaments and practices.

3. What is your favorite Washington D.C. monument?

I would have to say my favorite monument is the Washinton Monument. I have been up to the top once, and the view of the city is AMAZING!

4. What is your favorite Washington D.C. museum? (Hirshorn, Air & Space, etc.)

My favorite museum hands down is the natural history museum. I love science (especially geology) and there are just so many wonderful things to see there!

5. Where did you get Ebony? What made you decide to choose her?

We adopted Ebony from the local shelter. I begged Brendan for months and months to let me/us adopt a kitten (he didn't really want one at the time) and finally I convinced him to come to the shelter with me. Brendan grew up with cats his whole life so he knew he would not be leaving the shelter without adopting one.
Brendan picked Ebony. I didn't want him to resent me for begging so long so I said to him "I will take any cat I just want it to be one you will love too" And Ebony is now our little girl. I think Brendan chose her because she just looked so sad in her cage and he wanted to give her a good home. She had been through a lot in her 10 week life. When we adopted her she had stitches in her neck from an attack when she was feral/stray. Poor thing was found all alone and hurt at like 4 weeks. But she's home with us now and is a spoiled brat, so hopefully she's put all of that behind her.

Thanks for the questions, I really enjoyed answering them!

oh my gosh i woke up to so many new questions! i wish i could think on my toes, but i think I'll be late for work if I try to answer them all. So here are the answers to Kellys and the others I will be sure to answer this afternoon when i get home from work!

If you could live anywhere in the world (safely) where would it be?

Ya know I have lived in VA my whole life that I am pretty content here. I LOVE traveling and seeing new places but I always feel the pull to come back to VA when all is said and done. I have tossed around the idea of possible living in Orlando, FL one day just because I love Disney so much, but for now I am still happy with calling VA home sweet home.

Are you afraid of spiders?

Baby ones, no. Anything larger - yes. Its pretty pathetic. My students find spiders at school all the time and I won't go near them. Last year I actually had a specific student who was the class 'bug person'. He was responsible for taking any and all bugs out of our room.

Try Picante's, over on Rt. 50 W, It's about a mile or so down from the Rt.28/50 intersection. Let me know if you want more specific directions.

Ahhhhhhhhhh I have lots of catching up to do. Thanks for all the great questions.

If your partner could only tell the truth for a day what would you ask him?

I think I would ask him why he didn't ask me out sooner. lol!
We were 'friends' for 3 years before we actually started dating.

If Ebony could talk what would you ask her?

I think I would ask her why she keeps playing with her poop!!!
This is one problem of hers that I have not found a solution to yet.

If you were given $!0,000 what would you spend it on?

Right now I am asking for my boyfriend to help me out with a lot of the expenses to close on my house. I wish I didn't have to ask that of him, but since the track we are going down seems to be leading to getting engaged and married fairly soon I don't feel as bad. If I was given 10,000 I'd definitely use most of it to cover housing expenses. The rest would pay off my credit cards and go into savings.

Where's your favourite spot to spend you time?

At starbucks. I love just hanging out there, talking with friends, people watching, drinking a good cup of coffee, and reading or doing work. I find it to be quite relaxing.

What's your favourite thing in the world to do?

I love just being with Brendan. I am lucky to have such a great guy around. We can spend time doing nothing but sit on the couch. Spending time with him is still my favorite thing in the world.

Thanks Sam! You got two new ones which I'd be more than happy to answer.

What colors do you plan on having in your new house?

Ugh I have been struggling with this for quite awhile...I am not exactly sure what to do. I know my office will be painted red. I have always wanted a 'red room' because red is my absolute favorite color. I don't think I could stand to have red in like the family room or bedroom, so it will be saved for my office.

My kitchen I plan to have deep blue accents...blue and white I think.

Family room - NO CLUE, maybe a green of some sort.

Any decorators out there that want to help me design my new rooms?

Do you prefer house plants or a garden?

I prefer a garden. I don't have much of a green thumb. I imagine I'd be able to take care of a garden much easier. I think it would be awesome to have a stone patio and garden in my backyard.

Sarah -- I love your signature...Tibby and Molly both look so sweet and cozy!

What was your first computer?

OMG - something with like 3 colors that was really slow. I remember having like wordperfect 3.1 or something insane and all that would run was DOS there was no Microsoft back then. My parents bought that when I was like 7.

Which is your favourite Beanie Baby?

That is a tough one!! I collected too many.
I think all of my bears are very special to me. I remember going to England and Ireland with my family when I was in HS and we spent half our time going into shops searching for the "Princess Diana" bear and the "Shamrock" bear. We ended up coming home with both.
I also have this tye-dye "Garcia" bear which used to be quoted to be worth some money. We never sold it though.

What do you think it your best quality as a teacher?

Hard question. I have a lot of people tell me I am patient, but I don't see it a lot of the time. So others may says patience. I would say organization. Most days I tend to be VERY organized. If you have your lessons and paperwork organized, working with the kids can be your top priority.

What is your favourite item of clothing?

My blue jeans. I wish I could wear them everyday. Blue jeans are the item of clothing I am alway super picky about and will pay loads of money for.

I also love my College of Willam and Mary hooded sweatshirt. It represents my alma mater and its just so big and comfy and warm!

Do you have a holiday/vacation planned for this year? If so, where?

I wish!!!
I went to New York during Xmas time. I think that is my one vacation. Money is tight with buying this house. I really want to go out to California soon. Brendan has never been and I think he needs to experience seeing the West Coast.

mmmmmmm, I love tequila! 'Tequila sunrises' are good. I can't think of other drink i've had with tequila, but I know I have had many.

2.- Can you ride A bicycle? do you have one?

Yes, I CAN ride a bike. But I do not have one.
I would love to get a bike again one day. Its such good and fun excercise.

3.- Do you like the pasta?

Pasta is good too. I love just about anything involving food.

4.- If you can travel the time wich age you choose and why?

I already answered that one the other day. I would go back to Greek/Roman times. I spent a lot of time in HS learning about all the crazy rulers back then. I would've been interesting to experience it.

Gargoyle --

Thanks for the heads up!! Is that over by the Sully shopping center? I am moving out to Aldie this summer (right near the 50/606 intersection) so that should not be too far from my new home!

Can't remember the name of the shopping center (it's one of the little strip malls).
I did find their site, which has a page with a map/directions:

I am thinking the UK - only because I have visited and I loved the time I spent there. But as for where in the UK I have no clue -- I'd need some direction for some of my TCS friends.
I am not a very wordly traveler so I have no idea where else I would want to live.

Cool, you'd like to live in the UK!! I think you would like the Wirral, it's near beaches (for what they're worth??) and the sea and close to Liverpool and Chester!!

Here are my questions, if they have been asked before, then ignore them!!

What is your favourite book?

What is your favourite film?

If you were to go to a desert island, what three inanimate objects would you need to have?

Do you enjoy boat rides?
