They only have the Pet's Expansion pack for the Sims1, the Sims2 doesn't have one yet. But I keep hopingfor one.

I have all of the packages, except the online one. I love the SIMS 2 - it rocks! I have to ration my time on the computer with it - when I start i lose track of time and can be on there for hours.

The first expansion for the Sims 2 will be a university expansion. With it you will have a new life stage, young adult. Instead of going from teenager to adult, you can go to college, and become a young adult. I read also that if you go to the university, you can unlock other careers that you can't have without an education.

They said they were gunna try to make a pets expansion for S2 though!! It may not be for a while.

Oh please put the Sims away from me, cause I won't get anything done when I start playing that.

Just wanted to say... I'm excited, I think I've convinced my boyfriend to get me the Sims game on PS2. He, being cheap (and broke at the moment) wants to find it off ebay... either way, yay!

Pawn shops sometimes have video games. We have a great second-hand store that carries books, CDs, records & video games. It might be worth a quick look in your yellow pages.

No way!! You've never heard of this game?!?! In the most simple terms, it's a game about manipulating people's lives. You control almost every aspect of their lives from using the toilet, going to bed, eating, socializing, working, cleaning the house, etc. Of course, if you don't keep your Sim happy, he or she will die.

I call it a HUMAN SIMULATION game. You get to make little electronic humans that live in your computer
In the game, and you can make their lives how ever you want. PLUS, you can build their house, you can download new objects for them to use from the internet, it's a cool game.

thanks,
Honestly... I would NOT allow my children to play it if they were under 15. But that is me... I've been playing the game since it first came out. When the first one came out, it was okay for kids, but with the expansions, I would NOT let kids play. Especially with Sims2. There is a lot more mature themes in the new game.

IF I had kids, and they were interested in playing, I might let them play while I supervised, but then, it might NOT be much fun

But that's ME!!

I do have a niece, she's 12, turning 13 this year. I won't let her play it unsupervised on my computer. The problem is... there are a lot of sites out there that are geared towards adults, with adult content that is very inapropriate for children, and some teenagers.

There are issues in life that children shouldn't deal with while they are kids. IMO Kids should just really enojoy being a kid while they can, life is too real, adn gets not so fun the older you get

The sims2 exchange is horrible too for kids. I was browsing it the other day, and reported a few people who had anatomicaly correct nude sim skins available for download. That site is supposed to be safe for ALL ages, and that just made me so mad that some one is sneaking that kind of content into a place that is supported by the makers of the game, set up for us players of the game, and kids can download it... UGH!!!

Really? Wow, I haven't played since it first came out and you're right, I might let them play it. I mean, the worse that happens is a couple will kiss and then a baby in a bassinet appears. Might make kids think twice about kissing.

Oh yeah and blurred out pieces when they use the toilet or shower.

But I haven't seen some of the expansions, I had no idea they were so grown up.

You guys, this is making me want the game! No fair!

Well... In the new one, you can get married, try for a baby (there is even animation for it, it's called 'whoo hoo-ing')

OMG... In sims2, there are apirations... you can chose
the Family aspiration(you want to get married, have kids, and grandchildren)
the MONEY aspiration (you end up wanting to marry a rich sim, and then have them die so you can inherit their money)
the ROMANCE aspiration (this one disturbs me... You will want to have 3 loves at the same time, kiss so many different sims, and have WOO HOO with more then 2 or three different sims... what is that teaching us?)
the POPULARITY aspiration (You want to have a lot of parties, have lots of friends, and date)
and the LOGIC aspiration (you want to be a scientist or doctor, meet aliens, have your family meet aliens, max all your skill points)

As for The Sims Online.. NO WAY... I would NOT ever let any kid play that unsupervised... too many crazy mean and nasty people hiding behind their sims.

The sims was much more kid friendly. With HOT DATE, you got to date, and I think it was that one that you got the 'love bed' that let you play in bed. You might have got the bed with Livin' Large too. Most of the expansions for the first sims aren't so bad for kids, but there is some questionable material in the game, and especially on the internet all for download so easily...

That's hilarious!!

This what I would want to try for.

And that one!

I agree, Sims Online is risky... to many weirdos out there.

Okay so who wants to let me come over and play their Sims game for a while? Anyone?

I reread your post...

In the beginning, when just The Sims was out, I think it was for kids, but adults quickly jumped into the game, and started asking for more realistic things, wich is partly what sims2 is about IMO.

As for the kissing... I never really tried to have babies in The Sims, because my main interest was in building. I don't really know much about that aspect of the game. Do they have a baby when they kiss? I thought that you had to have two adult sims fall in love, then sleep together in the bed to have a baby. My lilbro got on my sims game when I went to bed. (he was... about 13 when I got the game) While I was sleeping, he played my two girl roomates I had. When I got up, and played my game the next day, my two girl roomates were madly in love with each other, wanting to get married, and have a kid. I kept getting phone calls from the addoption agency wanting me to addopt a baby... UM NO... I deleted that family, and found a way to keep my bro from playing my game without me knowing... I HID THE CD!!

The blurred spots are a plus... you can download a patch from the net to get rid of that, wich an unsupervised kid/teenager can do very easily, as well as download skins for their sims... It is my understanding that kids/teens can manipulate computers better then their parents... I might be different if I had kids, but based on my feelings now, since I have no kids, I would say I might let them play supervised... However, if I had kids, and they were responsible, and I knew them very well, I might let them play... unsupervised, I might not, but I doubt I would.

I was thinking, I think it might have been House Party that gave you the love bed? I don't remember. I also haven't played The SIms since I got SIms2...

Vacation expansion is good for kids, Unleashed... very good for kids, makin' magic I also think is good for kids. That one was inspired by harry potter!

Let's see there is:

For fun I created one sim with each aspiration, and honestly the Logic is the easiest for me to play. Logical sims are very easy to keep happy.

the money sim is the hardest... They want new stuff all the time. The family sim is fun too. They want like 10 kids, and 10 grand children, and HATE being abducted by aliens.

The romance sim was kind of hard, I didn't play it too much. They are picky.
It's hard to keep them happy, because their happiness depends on OTHER sims, rather then stuff they can do by themselves.

Same goes with the popular sim, they are hard because you have to have NONfamily members around...

Unless you download a hack that lets you up all points...

I LOOOOOVE the SIMS. I have Sims deluxe, Superstar and Unleashed (where you can have pets). When I start playing it I can't stop. However, I can just not play it at times for a while. I have 3 families going right now. One of them are billionaires and it's a husband, wife and one girl. They have 2 persian cats. One of the others is a single girl with a cat and a dog. I've got her savings up to almost $40,000 now! The dog's name is Luna and the cat is a grey persian named Josie. LOL. The thrid is a couple I made up called Dharma and Greg (I loved that show) LOL.

I remodled the rich families house not to long ago. They walked in after and started clapping. It was hilarious! You can get lots of cool objects at private sites too where people make them.

I actually kind of like the Fortune Sims, as long as you keep them on the right career path I find them pretty easy.

Now those blooming Romance and Popularity Sims kill me everytime, nothing I do keeps them happy as the Pleasant family found out. However the Maid is living the high life now that the rest of the family is gone.

I couldn't keep my money sims happy, until I used the money cheat, then they were EASY... just buy them a new set of furniture every couple days, new EVERYTHING, and they are happy
I didn't like them hoping for their spouses to die so they could inherit money... They(twin girls I created with bodyshop) married twin boys (who were born in my game), and I didn't wanna kill off my Forest, or Jungle (the twin ELF boys I had)
So I moved the girls out, and made them break up.
