Well i posted about taking in a foster from a gal at work. And hes been hear a few days things are going well. But i have the sneaking suspicion he may be intact. He does not spray. But hes been howling, and yowling something feirce, and just tried to mount my Bellie. I took them apart and now hes yowling and shes sitting on he otherside of the door. Unfourtnely i do not have my gals fixed yet. Because I have Loki fixed, and I WILL be getting the girls fixed, just trying to get the appointment. I am keeping them fully closed off now as a saftey messure..but any thoughts?

What did the woman you got him from tell you? Did she say specifically when he was neutered? If it was done recently, he may still have some male hormones swimming around his system - it can take at least a month or more for them to dissipate. Sometimes the howling and mounting can be signs of aggression - he may be feeling defensive in his new surroundings.

Also, take a good look at his rear end - does he look intact? You can't always tell for sure this way, unfortunately. I've seen pictures posted by another member of a neutered cat that you'd swear was an intact tom!

In the meantime, since there's some doubt about his "status", you're wise to keep your girls separated from him (happy to hear they will be getting spayed soon!) to be on the safe side.

Please let us know what you find out.

She never said. And I guess I just assumed. So I am going to ask her, as right now hes in a MOOD and I am not going anywhere near his backside lol I dont know him that well and he is clawed. All I know is he has had all proper vaccines or he wouldnt be in my house. Poor Bellie has been sitting outside the bedroom door ALL DAY wanting to see him.

Oh yes I am an advocate for cats and dogs being spayed and Nuetered, but i am also an advocate for the places that help with making it affordable. i took all my babies in from the street and was blessed with mostly girls, of course the more expensive of them all. So I got Loki done right away, and being as they are indoor girls. said as I can i will do it. It will get done. But yup until i find out forsure his butt is staying locked up.
