Last night my husband was cooking steak on the BBQ. He left our sliding glass door open "a crack" according to him. Of course, both Simon and Max take this opportunity to go out into the great big world. They are both indoor kitties who would be confused because they wouldn't be able to find any "wild" kibble outside, so this is a VERY bad thing!

I hear my husband yelling for me, walk out into the backyard and see one cat on one side of the yard and one on the other. Simon, who is my kitty and is afraid of everyone else, came running back the minute I called him. Max was a little more hesitant, but did let my husband catch him.

Later that night, my hubby was talking to Max and telling him how much trouble he would have been in with mamma had they escaped. I got a good laugh out of that because he wasn't scared because the cats got out, he was scared of ME, because he knows that if one of them got lost or hurt, I'd KILL him!!!
He's right too!

Luckily it all worked out, but it sure will get your heart going!

I agree! Its scary when you temporarily lose a kitty.
Before Conner went through what I call puberty we lived in apartments and everytime I would walk outside to go to the car or to the laundry room my little faithful kitty would walk with me. Now if he gets out he goes straight for under the house which is a reall pain in the butt!!

BTW ALL: I take Conner with me everywhere in the car and he loves it. He likes riding in the car and being outside with me. I have gotten a kitty leash so that he can walk to the car with me without being carried, I figured he would like this. But as soon as I put him on the leash and put him on the ground, he freezes, so I will very lightly tug the leash or nudge his booty w/ my foot an he will just roll over on his back and refuse to move,, any hints as to how to get him comfy w/ leash walking??

<WHEW!!> Cheryl! Glad they are all back and your husband is scared of you at the same time!
I know I held up Christams dinner at our house for an hour. Eric had let Sasha outside after 7, which is a no-no.
So by 8:45 pm I was almost frantic --no Sasha-- and it was a clear moonlit night (groan--great for coyotes) and he was noplace to be seen!
He finally came in at 9. But it just made me lose all my appetite until we found him about 20 ft away.....

I swear men just don't think sometimes.LOL.
I am glad they are both in safe and sound where they belong.

Several months ago I came home and seen my indoor only cat outside on the porch waiting by the door.I was furious.I came in and turns out a friend of Mike's and their 5 darn kids were over here while I was at school and somehow the door got left open and some cats escaped.
I got my cat in and a few minutes later went back out and saw another one of my cats outside sitting under my truck(I have no clue where she had been cause I didn't see her when I pulled up).I got her in and came in and done a head count and thank goodness noone else was out.

I told him that they were NOT to be at my house ever again if I wasn't home and from now on if he had friends over while I was gone to make sure they don't leave the door open.....I swear you would think her kids were raised in a barn(actually their house looks more like a pig sty,but that is another story.
)

Anyway...glad everyone is back inside where they belong.
