I was asking around about solid gold dry cat food, and someone heard that it isn't that great of a cat food, and some cats had problems with it. Has anyone heard this? Is anyone familiar with Solid gold cat food out there? Thanks for any advice , catlover

Solid Gold is a premium quality, human grade food. However, it's lamb based and some cats (mine!!) don't care for lamb. I feed Innova light. Innova regular is higher in protein (a good thing) but my kitties are older and were getting plump on it. Innova is turkey and chicken based. I supplement with Wysong canned which is all meat and broth - no preservatives or other junk.

My concern would be that Solid Gold Dry for cats contains garlic, which is something along with onions that I choose to not feed my cats.

Here is a vet article on the topic: Article re onions and garlic

There are other premium cat foods out there that do not such as Felidae, Innova, California Natural, Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul, Nuto Natural Choice Complete Care, Natural Balance to name some.
