A friend came to visit and Oliver came out as usual to be greeted, but Tripod ran under the bed. The friend wanted me to get him out. He went on and on about how I wasn't raising him right...that I shouldn't LET him behave like that...that I needed to have some control... I tried to explain that he's a CAT, but the guy didn't get it. FINALLY I said, Look, Tri comes out when D--- comes up, when T---- comes up, when D----- comes up, and when my dad comes up. He hides from the vacuum cleaner and he hides from you. It's not HIM it's YOU!

I felt kinda mean...but he pushed me

Sounds like your cat has really good sense!
Good for you - I don't think you were being mean but I do think your friend was being rude. I assume he does not have a cat nor does he know much about them!

Give Tripod an extra hug for being so perceptive!

Well, he obviously doesn't have a cat to educate him...somebody had to! Congratulations for taking on the job!
