Can someone please give me suggestions!!

I've read the posts on cat urination problems and this hasn't been answered

We brought one of our cats to the vet because sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been peeing randomly in the house, on a very random basis since we got her. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve kept the litterbox ultra clean, used vet recommended litter, etc etc and it turns out the doc thinks she has feline urinary infection. So sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s on antibiotics, but since yesterday when we brought her back from the vet, sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s peed twice – when she hasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t peed that frequently in the house before. I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know if sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s mad at us for making her stay overnight with the doc, or if her condition is worse… but we donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know what to do anymore to keep her from peeing, or at least to keep her off the furniture.

We tried the animal repellent sprays, which didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t work, then we found out theres an ingredient in them that can cause cancer, plus we donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know how to keep up training with them when weâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re at work, since they get free run of the house without us catching them –
Can ANYONE help or offer suggestions!!!! We canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t afford to keep replacing blankets and/or furniture!

(also, we have used the enzyme cleaner to remove their traces of pee so they canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t smell it… apparently its not working that well even though we soaked everything in it)

I would recommend keeping her confined in a bathroom until you have her urinary problems figured out. I would also recommend an all canned food diet, even mixing in some extra water, to keep her urine dilute so that she washes out any crystals that are forming. Continue to keep the litterbox spotless and continue working with your vet. If you don't see improvement in a day or two, call back and see what they recommend. Becky

Peanut-

We brought one of our cats to the vet because sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been peeing randomly in the house, on a very random basis since we got her. how long have you had her?

Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve kept the litterbox ultra clean, used vet recommended litter, etc etc and it turns out the doc thinks she has feline urinary infection. I would toss out the litterbox that you were using, and give her TWO brand new ones in the same area. They sometimes reject the box as they view it as an instrument that caused them pain, so they will pee around it, or other places. It is going to take time for the infection to clear, the antibiotic is not a miracle pill. Expect accidents to happen.

I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know if sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s mad at us for making her stay overnight with the doc, or if her condition is worse… If a cat gets "mad" it generally goes off somewhere to hide, or it scratches you or bites you. A cat will not generally pee on the carpet because it is mad at the owner.

Can ANYONE help or offer suggestions!!!! We canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t afford to keep replacing blankets and/or furniture! I am not sure how much furniture you are talking about, but generally a sick cat will pee in only two or three areas. You can put aluminum foil over the area, but if you don't get a good enzyme cleaner to completely knock down the enzymes of the urine, she will return to the same place every three days to refresh her scent.
You can also start feeding her right where she has peed, but really getting rid of the litter pan and giving her two fresh ones, should do the trick. Try Nok-Out or Nature's Miracle to rid the area of the urine. Invest in a black light to be sure you have gotten all of the stains up-

Good luck!

She may just have to go so bad that she can't hold it and will pee wherever she is. Confining her to one room with food, water, and a litterbox or two would be the best way to keep the mess down until the medicine kicks in. (I'm going through the same thing with Hans, though he has bladder stones. When he has to go, he has to go right now.) Just remember, she doesn't have to be confined forever. It should take a few days for her to start using the litterbox normally.

Keeping her on her own is also a great way to make sure she's drinking enough water and peeing enough. With more than one cat, it's hard to tell who's using the litterbox and who isn't. This way you can call the vet if it seems like she's having more problems.

the south(not by choice)
is she declawed? I think everyones' suggestions are on track. Get new litter boxes, she probably associates the old ones with pain. Also there is some type of litter out there that is supposed to attract cats who don't want to use the litter box(it is sold at petsmart). Clean where she pee's outside the litter box with a special pet stain cleaner(sold at petstores) , if not she will still be smelling her urine and going over and over again. UTI is painful, don't be angry at her show her lots of love and hopefully everything will work out. Good luck cat.
