On Monday i decided it was time to detox the system after all the wine, turkey, chocolate, lollies, coke, gravy, wine, ham, bacon, eggs, sausages, chips, wine and food i have managed to consume over the Xmas period. I'm on the third day and all i can think about is chocolate!!!

Is anyone else "detoxing"? Are you finding it this hard as well?? Or am i the only idiot doing this.

Surely just a little snack size Mars bar won't hurt....

All I can say is the last time I tried detoxing off coffee and junky carbs, I thought I would die. I was in pain for 3 weeks and could do nothing but get my kids to school -come back and sleep. After the 3 weeks, I felt awesome. Good luck!

I am for 2 weeks. Today is day 2 so I have a while to go yet. I way overdid it over the holidays, been afraid to step on the scales. Not craving anything yet but I expect the craving will kick in in the next day or two!

Your definately not an idiot for doing this. I've done it before and it does work pretty well, it's just that afterward it's hard not to give in to the temptation of eating junk, it's not totally a physical craving for me but rather mental!

Well, that's the way I always think too, and then I have another and another and another and another....
And before I even realize it, I've eaten half a bag of those tiny little snack size candy bars! Have to run now, I think Snowball needs me!

What detox plan are you following, what do you do? What do you eat, can you eat, can't eat etc... I am a tiny bit interested.

With my last detox I only drank water, and no refined sugars were allowed. I would eat lean meats, veggies, brown rice, etc. It was basically getting off all the junk sugars such as candy, white breads, refined things, etc and liquid chemicals like coffee and soda. I would also drink protien shakes for breakfast.

I lost 30 pounds in about two months and felt wonderful..of course stupid me, getting busy at the schools and eating waht was around ruined it...and now I need to start over too. lol

MrPig, your handle isn't helping.

I have made a resolution not to eat two favorite foods: french fries and potato chips. It's tough, but I'm doing it.

Not one piece of chocolate! You can do this.
Build you a brick house and don't let that Chocolate Wolf blow your house down...

Wow... I Love the holidays. I can eat all the food I normally don't get, I gain weight... look healthy, then back to normal life, and I drop all what I worked so hard getting durring the Christmas feasting.

I hear that once you reach a certain age that things start sticking, and people start gaining weight.... GOOD COUNT ME IN!!!!

I'll send some of my over active metabolism to anyone interested.

There's a vitamin company called Blackmores in Australia that have a 10 day detox pack. It has Milk Thistle (for your liver), Acidophilis (to replace good bacteria), Digestive bitters (to aid digestion - tastes absolutely awful by the way!) and a mix of dried herbs that is supposed to help clean out the colon. I'm allowed to eat as many vegies as i like, supposed to drink heaps of water and herbal tea, brown rice is OK, chicken, fish, tofu, goats cheese, soy milk and stuff like that.
There is no alchohol, Coke, coffee, refined sugar, chocolate, normal tea, dairy, red meat or wheat allowed.

It's only for 10 days and i know i will fell heaps better (and hopefully lighter!
) but it is proving to be hard.

I am now craving potato chips which is probably my biggest weakness!!

Maybe I'm a late bloomer... I just turned 30
Still hoping. My mom happened to stay thin as a board until she was 49. What made her gain weight was being put on steroids for her lungs... then she ballooned. She hated HATED the weight.

I should detox also, but not to loose, just to be healthier.

I'm telling myself that i am doing it to be healthier but i am also trying to lose about 10 kilos.

I would love to be my old size but i wasn't happy even then as i had no boobs
Now i have boobs but a rather big butt to match!!

Sigh. I would just like to be happy with the way i am. At least i am trying to get fit this year and not just doing one crazy diet after another!

LOL big boobs and butt? I have neither, and have always wanted both

My hubby likes me just they way I am, he says I am perfect, and he is the only one that needs to worry about it, and he doesn't so why should I?

Lol. you know, you are just as wonderful with or without the extra body.

In all honesty it comes down to one thing. You have to be happy with YOU. I've always hated being so thin. I've always hated the fact that I am the first with goosebumps and shivering, and always cold, where my friends, especially my thicker friends, are comfy outside.

Just remember though, you are wonderful as you are, if you want to be healthier, or thinner, go for it, just be careful.

Thanks MyRage! I will most definitely be careful and this is my year to accept myself completely (including the faults!)

It's also my year to have more fun so looking forward to that too!!!!

I have detoxed before and its probably time to do it again. I also do a cleansing - not pretty but way worth it.

Tia - if there were boob transplants available, you can take some of mine for free!
