Well, the most recent news is I have acquired a beautiful purebred Maine Coon.I have wanted one for a long time.He is almost 4 years old and as I was looking through his vet records I noticed that this is the 5th home he has been in in his short life.I took him in as a "foster" just so I can see if everyone can get along.I know he has been through many homes and I am sure that is not good on him so I really hope everything can work out with me keeping him.He is really NOT happy about all the other cats, but I have only had him a couple of days,so maybe he will come around. All of my cats I think are scared of him because he is so big.LOL.
He was a matted up mess when I got him,but after hours of brushing and shaving he is mat free.
Keep all paws crossed that everything works out and I can call him mine.I want this to work soooooo bad.
I will try to get a few good pics of him soon.

Also some may remember me posting about Mike picking up a puppy(I think the post was lost with the crash),but anyway the puppy found a good home and I am so glad because I am just not up to taking care of a puppy full time.

Not long after that Mike picked up a beautiful little kitten(not far from where he got the puppy). She looked like maybe a siamese mix(like the blue/grey colored ones).I don't know how in the world he caught her because I swear she was feral. She calmed down somewhat after a few days and one of the girls I go to school with fell in love with her and took her home.

I go back to school in a week and I am so not ready.I am enjoying being lazy.LOL.Only 1 more year to go.Woohoo.

Ok.I will hush now and I will try to get pics of the kitty soon.

Congrats on the new addition! I'm sure with your experience, his intro to the rest of the family will be just fine. And also congrats on finding a home for both the puppy and the rescued kitten!

Good luck with classes - and enjoy the last few "lazy" days....

I've been wondering what became of you. Good luck with the Maine Coon! I know what you mean about going back to school - right now I'm thinking, "Four more days when I can sleep in".

My first cat Shalimar (RB) was a maine coon. Yes, she was bigger than most cats, but she didn't take up any more space or cat litter than a regular cat. And she really didn't eat much more than a normal cat did either.

The only thing I had to adjust for her was the cat carrier. I added stronger bolts to handle her weight. And I gave up more of my side of the bed for her.

Thanks for the replies everyone.I do hope I am able to keep this guy..I am already falling in love with this big ball of fluff.LOL.
He has pretty much quit hissing at everyone....now if I can get them to quit hissing at him(they aren't really being too bad though)
I have been letting him roam around some very supervised and he really doesn't pay much attention to the other cats...he goes up to them and sniffs them and is most of the time greeted with a hiss and he politely walks off.He acts like he wants to play with them sometimes, but noone wants to have anything to do with him just yet.
So far it is going pretty well.

Well, here is a couple of pics of the big guy(I think he actually needs to gain a little weight..he only weighs 13.5 lbs)

Yeah Mike thinks this is "his" cat.
Hehe.

Awww. What a big sweetie!! I have a soft spot for maine coons, somewhere I think, but It could just be because Molly is part one, and has some of the characteristics..
Lovely..
