Around Christmas my best friend came home, and opened his door and in ran one of the area's stray cats. She was very friendly, and he let her come in from the awful cold. He went and got all sorts of kitty supplies and toys. Her main issue is that she's always after his food and the garbage can. LOL. He is a poor college student, so he went to the humane society to see if they could do anything....she would have to wait until February.
He then took her to the vet, and she got a checkup and her vaccinations. She has some allergies and she's receiving treatment for fleas. He took her home, and waited until today, her spay appointment to take her back. The vet called him and told him that she was FeLV positive and asked if he wanted them to proceed with the spay or put her down. He said "Of course I want to keep her", and hung up. His family adopted two FeLV positive kitties when he was a kid, one didn't live long, but the other lived for almost 15 more years! If he would have went through the humane society and adopted her as planned, they would have put her down.
Winter is one lucky kitty, wouldn't you say?!?!
I knew my friend liked cats, but not to do all of this, I'm so proud!!!
