Do you have any?
Something you have done or something your community is doing?
Here's ours

I live in a small city of about 60,000 people:
A locally owned travel agency urged people to give up the trips they were planning to take (anywhere in the world) and the money would instead go to Red Cross, so far in about 4 days, over $50,000 has been given... I think the woman who owns the agency is absolutely amazing, as well are the people who gave up their trips~

Houston tx is trying to donate 100 million dollars!!!!!! Bush sr. and some prominent locals are starting the benefit. They say if everyone donates 25$ then they'll be there! But there are many other very wealthy people donating much more,, so hopefully that will cover those who dont give.

The local media and the Red Cross did a big funds drive one day this week, that happened to fall on one of the coldest days we've had this winter. I mean, the high for the day was something like 15 degrees F. They only had drop offs at 4 firehouses, and raised almost $100,000. One guy from a law firm wrote out a check for $10,000 right there on the spot!

A lot of local hairdressers are closed Mondays. Well, this coming Monday they're going to be open, and all proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross.
A baker in our town is holding a "kaffeeklatsch" on Fridays - the proceeds from the coffee and cake/cookies he sells go to UNICEF. He apparently got a lot of business yesterday.

I know Chicago donated over $1 million dollars in a one-day drive.

I haven't donated yet....waiting for my paycheck on Friday.

A local not-for-profit is sending new and gently used shoes over seas...I'm gonna see if I can help with packaging, etc.

Here's a good one: Stuttgart's very popular former mayor, Manfred Rommel (son of the "Desert Fox"), walked around center city on Saturday and collected €17,832.07 (€1 = $1.30) for the Red Cross from passersby. Aid agencies announced last Friday that they'd received €330 million from private citizens in Germany, and that the contributions were continuing to pour in.

Wow Houston sure is on a mission! Here in San Antonio the station I work at is trying to urge people to donate, they've teamed up with a bunch of other companies.
