I think I need a shrink!!!!!

As doofus has grown up hes become less and less affectionate....he used to cry till we picked him up...now if we pick him up he cries and scratches to get down....he doesnt seem to like us anymore exept for once in a while when he will crawl in bed and wake me up so I pat him....he is only interested in the other cats.....this has been going on since we got Mabby (7 months ago)... is this all part of growing up or is he depressed??...or god forbid he doesnt like us anymore...I treat all my kits with love and respect..i play with them daily...and ya know I love my cats.... ..John thinks its middle child syndrom...lol....does that even exsist in the animal kingdom???

Two things are working here- your cat is growing up and also reacting to the new kitty in the home. You don't need a shrink, because your cat is just being what he is, a cat. Sometimes a loner, and other times he will want your lap to snuggle in. Petting and picking up is something we need. Not all cats respond to this, not all the time,.

thanx, I figured thats all it was....a symptom of growing up...but you always have to be sure.....ecspecially when it comes to your kits.......
