does anyone have a kitty that they've put on a diet and it has been successful? my cat nerdles is a round little thing and I need to put her on a diet before something horrible happens to her. Let's see --- she weights about 20 lbs. and her paws are so tiny so I know she should weigh a lot less. Anyone been successful with a certain diet or brand of food, etc?

Honestly the best way to help her is to ask the vet about the diet. If she is going to loose it and stay healthy, the vet should do the calculations for you. The only problem is that if you free feed, then you would have to seperate her from the others during meals. Some of the light formulas will help, but to get it off to begin with a safe and healthy program is best.

I know what you mean! My Noodles (similar name
) was almost 20 lbs too. The Vet suggested Eukanuba Restricted Calorie and that seemed to help some.

Thanks for the replies - I think I'm going to feed her that kind of food until I can take her to the vet - hopefully sometime this week. I try to exercise her by taking her outside, and she runs . . . straight to the grass and starts eating it.
I just bought her some catgrass, so maybe that will help. Ohhh, I'll just have to wait for the vet I guess.
