Hi all. I was just at my Aunt's house. She lives along the Delaware River and not too long ago they had a big flood and her neighbor has taken in *ALOT* of feral cats because there was no where else for them to go. She now has about 40. There is a picture of one of them who she is looking for a home for on my Aunt's mantle. The *cutest* little thing. I would love, love, love to bring him home.

The problem is convincing my boyfriend. We had a kitten about 3 months ago who he loved to death. Unfortunately, we had to put her down due to a nasty URI. We have since adopted an older girl. She is taking a while to adjust to everything and is just warming up to him.

I think getting this kitty would do a lot. It would give my kitty someone to keep her company when we aren't home. She's a big girl, so hopefully it would get her moving about. Of course, it would be giving a kitty a home who needs one. And I would also hope that it would get my boyfriend to like cats more.

I had talked about getting another one and he was like "Oh no, no more cats. Blah, blah, blah." But I think once I brought it home he would fall in love.

Any suggestions you might have to pull on his heart strings a bit and convince him to let me bring this little fuzzball would be great!

Thanks!

I had one at first but he seemed lonely and then got him a friend, and he was not as lonely, but be prepared just because you have 2 cats doesn't equate to love at first sight. Some cats never get along. My husband didn't want my Zeus and I just got him anyway(I have a dominant personality) , and when zeus was about 5 months I noticed how lonely he was and decided to get another. What problems does your boyfriend have with cats?

Cry
and tell him how sad you are and how badly this kitty needs a home and cry some more
. I don't cry on purpose to get my way, but ummmm.... seems to work if I look back and remember correctly

On the other hand, if you feel he's going to truly resent this kitty, then don't do it. That would not be a good situation for you or the kitty.

He's more of a dog person.
He also never had a cat growing up. He just doesn't seem to understand the patience some cats need. Like I said before.. the cat we have now is just warming up to him and we got her in October. He's used to goofy dogs just liking anyone who will pet them or give them a treat. hehe

I have a feeling if I just brought it home that he would be mad at first but then like it a lot. I am hoping my kitty would like it (I say it because I'm not sure if it's a boy or a girl. I think it's a boy but not positive.). She used to live with another kitty until their owner couldn't keep them so she's been around another cat. Who wasn't very nice might I add.

So, do you think I should just bring him home and let him deal with it??? Or try my best to convince him? lol

I think that just might do the trick! lol I know he won't resent this kitty. I was saying before that the kitten we had, Emily, he loved very much. And he cried like a baby when we had to put her down.

I do think he would like the kitty. But it's just convincing him of that fact to get it that will be the problem.

I am a sucker and if I could take 2 or 3 home -- I would! But on our lease it says in big red letters "NO PETS" so I think 1 or 2 is good for now.
Just wait until I get my own house! hehe
