Well, recently I took a new addition into our family..a little kitten named g.g. She is a very good cat,and a very healthy cat. But something that has came to my attention is that she nurses or attempts to nurse our other cat dora. What Im really wondering is can g.g actually nurse dora? or is it just to calm her down? Because it happens quite frequently and Dora has been getting a bit bigger in the stomach area. Maybe im just being paranoid, but im just very curious as to this being possible.
Thanks,
katia

She is going through separation anxiety and probably was taken from her mother way to early. Kittens should stay with mom for 12 weeks. i have heard of kittens suckling other cats even spayed ones and the females will eventually give milk. Is Dora spayed?

I think it is just a comfort thing for them. Mine was taken from momma too soon and he acted like he was nursing when he would cuddle with me at night. He is outgrowing it. Hasn't done it for weeks now.
