Do you have a favourite TV theme song. Something that once in your head you can't get out. I have 2. The 1st is the theme from the Love Boat
Love Boat

Love Boat, love exciting and new,
Come aboard, we're expecting you.

The Love Boat soon will be making another run,
The Love Boat promises something for everyone.

Set a course for adventure,
Your mind's on a new romance.

And Love
Won't hurt anymore,
It's an open smile,
On a friendly shore.

it's Love
Welcome aboard it's love

And the 2nd is from the TV show Greatest American Hero.

Greatest American Hero

Look at what's happened to me,
I can't believe it myself,
Suddenly I'm on top of the world,
Shoulda been somebody else,

CHORUS:

Believe it or not I'm walking on air,
I never thought I could feel so free,
Flying away on a wing and a prayer,
Who could it be?

Believe it or not it's just me,
Just like the light of a new day,
It hit me from out of the blue,
Breaking me out of the spell I was in,
Making all of my wishes come true,

CHORUS
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me

My favorite is from Freaks and Geeks. It was "Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett.

Has anyone ever seen this show? Such a great show. Too bad it was cancelled while the "reality" shows continue to air. Very sad.

OMG Ady! That song was probably the best theme song ever. It even made it on the Top 40, if I remember right, which was pretty amazing at the time for a song that was explicitly for a TV show.

I love the Hawaii 5-0 theme, and the theme to Secret Agent Man. That was such a good remake of a good old show, Too bad it only lasted a few episodes.

Elizabeth,

Thank you for the lyrics. I always wondered what the words to the song were.

"Secret Agent Man" - I'd forgotten about that one! Talk about childhood memories (meaning the original)!

NYC The Town so Nice, They Named it Twice!
Theme from the Patty Duke Show...years ago when I worked in a hospital a nurse pal and I would sing it as a duet for our favorite patients!

Meet Cathy, who's lived most everywhere,
From Zanzibar to Barclay Square.
But Patty's only seen the sights
A girl can see from Brooklyn Heights — What a crazy pair!

But they're cousins,
Identical cousins all the way.
One pair of matching bookends,
Different as night and day.

Where Cathy adores a minuet,
The Ballet Russes, and crepe suzette,
Our Patty loves to rock and roll,
A hot dog makes her lose control — What a wild duet!

Still, they're cousins,
Identical cousins and you'll find,
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike —
You can lose your mind,
When cousins are two of a kind.

I loved that show! As a teenager, I went out with an identical twin, and a lot of people used to sing that song to tease him and his brother. Funny - after all these years, I can still tell the two apart, which makes me about one of about 15 people.
