This may sound like a silly question...

I bought a cat tree for my cat, I am at work right now and bringing it home later tonight, does anyone have any tips about how to introduce the cat tree? My fear is that I spent all the money for nothing, I am sure he will play with it (he loves to climb)...

Any suggestions would be helpful on how to introduce the tree..

My cats have had two different trees (had to leave one behind when we left California) and no introductions were necessary. They might have sniffed around the tree at first but within a day they were using it like it had always been there. You'll see -- he will LOVE it! You didn't waste your money -- I promise!!

I bought this one at Wal-Mart for $35 + tax. It's a Cat Craft Cat Tree. I brought it home, and no sooner was I done setting it up that my kittens were clambering up it, chasing each other, wrestling, playing and SCRATCHING on it. They have lost interest in scratching anything else in my apartment.

Yep. My friend Ariel from another board posted a picture of it online. When I looked for one, the cheapest one I saw on the web was $110 at PetSmart. Then I asked her where she got hers, and she told me Wally World. I went the very next day.

I don't see the tree on the Walmart website.
Maybe they just don't have it on-line. What section of the store did you find it in?

My cats certainly didn't need introductions to their tree. They were all over it while I was trying to put it together. I could only have wished for some initial hesitation. Becky

I closed the door to the room where I put it.

My inquisitive Joey was on the tree before I could set it down. Squirt, however, is always more apprehensive about new things. So I sprayed the cat tree with catnip spray. That helped.

UPDATE! - Simon LOVED his cat tree!! It's like he had it for years!!! The cat tree is already pre-treated with catnip (or so it says) so that must have helped!

I'll post pics soon!

I have two cat trees/condos and my cats love them. Never had to introduce any of the cats to them! But sometimes I do rub one of them down with catnip just for kicks. The large one I have has a cylinder half way up and Jake and Hallie both love to roll around in it.

I have been debating on weather or not to get a tree for Eb. But if there is really one for $35 at Wal Mart I may just have to go pick one up soon!
