We manage a feral colony and it just ocurred to me mention the ones that went to the Bridge this past year 2004.

Malin (2001-2004)
Paula (2003-2004)
Roll (3 mos old)
Milla (3 mos old)
Two tiny ones

Paula's daughter Margaret lives with us and so does her nephew, Clovis. We see all the kitties that left in them.

For them and all ferals everywhere, a moment of reflection. I just came from the airport where I was trying to buy a ticket home at hte end of next week, and I saw a beautiful cat dead in the middle of hte road. I couldn't stop to move it as there was a lot of traffic, but it made me so thankful I have a second chance with my Persil.

God bless them all

Thank-you very much for your words, thoughts and prayers. Ferals are dear to my heart
; though we help them as much as possible their lives are still in danger every minute. There should be tributes for the fallen ones everywhere. I'm grateful there are boards like this and people like you.

So heartbreaking.
I always pray for all the less fortunate kitties without a loving home. God bless them all this coming year.

I hope it is not inappropriate to add the ferals that we lost in our colony this year.

It was a hard year for us because of the way some of them went. One litter of kittens were taken from their mom when they were only a few days old. We tried to return them to Mom but couldn't find her and three of four died. The same mother lost one when he was soaked with a watering hose.

In addition two strays that were not part of the colony were shot with an air rifle or BB gun just outside our fence. These were boys that often visited us and shared our food.

The one that most broke my heart was a young adult female, Honey. I called her that because she was very sweet and had honey colored markings in her tortoise shell coat. She just disappeared in September. I miss her very much because she was partly tame and would let me hold her in my arms and pet her while she put her little face in the crook of my arm and purred.

Thank you for letting me put this in here, but if it is inappropriate, could someone make a thread for it?

This is little Mikey. I didn't even get a chance to hold him. He was just missing one morning from the rest of the litter and I never found him - no sign at all. That was only 3-4 days before I trapped Mama and the kittens. He was my pick of Mama's litter. I loved this little guy (assumed it was a boy).

RIP Little Mikey (age about 6 weeks)

Loving my beautiful baby girl
This is quite a deserving tribute to Malin, Paula, Roll, Milla, and the two tiny ones. These precious kitties were so blessed to have you in their lives, and today as they play with their new friends at The Bridge, each one holds a special place in their hearts for you, as you were likely the only person in their too short life to give them love.

Chris, little Mikey is so adorable, and I'm sure he sensed the love that you felt for him. It must have been so difficult for you to let him go. You did all that you could and were so successful in rescuing Mama and her other babies.

Thank you, Danielle, your sympathy means a lot to me. It's so hard to feel you are the only one that mourns these little lonely cats.
