I just got home from work so I'm not sure if this is just a local story or if it's received any national attention. A commercial building exploded due to a possible gas leak. The explosion was so violent that the building was reduced to small pieces of rubble. One person was airlifted to a hospital, two bodies have been removed from the rubble and a third is still missing. I have been told that this last missing person is the mother of two children. Please pray for all the victims of this unfortunate tragedy and their families.

Here's a link to the news story. http://www.kstp.com/article/stories/S5211.html?cat=1

Under the cats, mostly.
sounds very like Glasgow a little while ago - if I remember rightly they lost 16 people in the explosion. It's horrible when things like that happen. My heart goes out to everyone involved.

This is definitely real. We were watching a newscast about this during our lunch break at work. According to the news, they had both air ambulances and ground ambulances standing by at the scene, and at least one hospital on standby alert to receive possible survivers. They showed close ups of the firemen searching through the rubble, which reminded me of the firemen searching for victims at ground zero, and talked about a search and rescue dog that was assisting in the search. Why would this be a hoax??????

Much the same thing happened in France on Sunday - an apartment house blew up, presumably because of a defective gas line. By Monday they had recovered 17 bodies, with four people still missing. Fifteen people were injured, but not seriously.
It seems to be an almost weekly occurrence throughout Europe, and I definitely wouldn't be comfortable living in a house with gas heating, etc..

It's not just a local story... we're doing a story about it here in Texas on our stations. How sad.
