Shaving cat butts

I got an Arco (by Wahl) clipper for Christmas that was supposed to be for my horse, however I have already found it useful for shaving the extra-long butt-hairs of my two boy cats that are long-haired. They have problems with the poop clinging to the hair back there so I figured shaving it would be the way to go. I probably should have asked BEFORE I shaved them, but this was OK for me to do right?

Yes you did right! I have to do this with my kitties as well.

I just was worrying about their butts getting itchy, like I feel after I get a haircut...

I think they appreciate not having poop stuck on their butt hairs now LOL
