My 1 year old cat was knocked down by a car and has broken her pelvis. she is recovering well, eating and drinking and it bright in herself. She has been at the vet for a week now and still has not managed to wee on her own. Any advice from anyone?

Her name is Saffy and she is a beautiful bengal.

Your cat is young, it is a bad injury. It takes time to recover, and sadly some just don't. Follow your vet's advice, and please don't let this cat suffer if at all possible. I am dealing with some of the same type of problem here. No broken pelvis, but lots of nerve damage.

Good luck

Oh, your poor kitty! Listen to Hissy. Pray. It really does help. I will too. What is your cat's name?

Her name is Saffy and she is a beautiful bengal. A fighter and very strong willed so fingers crossed she will pull through - she is already standing but we just need her to pee on her own, then she can come home. It was heartbreaking her being at the vet over christmas - we havent seen her for 4 days.

Saffy sounds like a wonderful kitty. I'm sure you
love
her very much. 4 days! That must be so hard!

I really don't have any advice to give you, other than that you be patient, as such a serious injury may take quite a while to heal. Good luck!
