Alright, so we had three stockings, and every last one was full of toys. And so, we dumped them all out, and they had a free for all. When we cleaned up their toys on sunday (Well, three stockings worth of cat toys can coat an apartment) We noticed that all of Gibby's favorite toys had gone missing. By the way, he loves those plastic "milk bottle" rings (they're not really, but they're about the same size, but wavey so they're good for batting and carrying, and they're a harder plastic) We got him four.. and he took them into the kitchen and played for HOURS .... DAYS... a long dang time! now... the thing is.. they've all gone missing, along with a few other sundries. Any guesses where they've gone? In the kitchen, we have the oven, the fridge, a bakers rack, and a roll top desk, to give you some help. I think I'll have to scour the apartment to see.. He also may have hidden them in the bedroom.. Hrmm.. I simply should have filled his stocking with those.

Also a big hit in our apartment.. the turbo scratcher. There's somthing entrancing about the sound of the ball rolling, and trying to catch it, apparently .. Hours of fun for everyone.. except Molly, who is too dignified to play, and refuses even the most beguiling toys, lest they are brimming with catnip.

Sounds like my house!. I reckon i could open my own shop with the toys these two have, yet the rustle of a chocolate biscuit wrapper will stop them playing straight away, especially Sophie!, she's known for sitting and waiting for you to finish it just so she can play with it afterwards

Every week i have to get the end of my feather duster to slide along under the sofa and the fridge because everything goes under there, and you will always find a biscuit wrapper with a knot tied in the middle because they could play with them for hours!. I've been known to find them under the guest bed as well!.

My vote is for under the stove. That's where all the lost toys end up in our place -- including those wavey milk bottle rings.
Fawn loves to drop them in the water dish and see how they bounce on the "waves" when she bats at them/the water.
Recently, we had a small problem with the stove and Rob had occasion to pull the drawer out to see if he could discover any problems with the wiring -- you should have seen the collection of "lost" toys!! Yup. That's where I'd look.

Aw I'm glad Christmas was a hit in your kit's house! And I know all about toys getting lost... I just found 4 mice, 2 "plastic rings" and 1 toilet paper roll under my couch. Sigh.

If you find where they stash the toys, let me know. I'm sure there are various toys under the appliances in the kitchen, but Trent hid his favorite toy long ago and I've yet to be able to find it. No clue.

Sorry but those plastic rings are off limits for my cats. A few years ago, I had to rush Kahuna into the vet, because he was playing with a few of these rings, and they too went missing. The next day he was acting off, and we took him in. He had eaten the rings, and one of them had gotten wedged. We had to spend emergency monies for a surgery that could have been avoided had I been wiser.

Just watch your cat carefully and if he starts acting strange, or if he is straining at the litter pan and unable to go, consider the possibility that he too eats things he isn't supposed to-

Yikes MA... I had no idea. Thanks for the warning - it's mice and wand toys for Baylee from now on!

I never had a problem giving those plastic rings to my cat...she would just bat it around, etc. Then I gave one to my foster baby Briar just a few weeks ago. He had that thing torn into tiny pieces in a very short period of time! I had no idea
! I went over his room with a fine tooth comb. Fortunately he was fine. Hopefully the ones they sell as toys are considerably stronger. The Turbo Scratcher was always a big favorite with the kittens I've had. I was also told by one of my former foster's new mommy that he took all the ornaments off of her mini christmas tree and hid them all under the same rug...go figure
.

Anyway...I also vote for "under the stove"

When I moved out of my last apartment, I found a HUGE stash of toys under the stove, enough to fill a couple of stockings when added to the ones found behind the fridge.

Sounds like your gang had a great Christmas.
