Puerto Rico... land of rice and beans.
We were this evening at Sam's trying to buy some toner for the fax machine... I am afraid I got myself in an embarrasing situation.

I came out with the shopping cart through the exit. There was a mess of people out at the exit all trying to break the fundamental rule that says two people cannot occupy the same place. I hate Sam's for that, but thats where I get the cheapest toner for the fax machine.

In the whole mess, I finally got out of there with the cart carrying two cases of fax toner... and keep there distracted walking away from the place, and by the time I am halfway through the drive way that lies between the Sam's and the parking lot... two policemen show up from behind running, one of them stops the cart and the other one puts his hand on my arm and telling me to stop right there.

I am standing there like ::censor::censor::censor:: and before I ask what is the problem, a woman shows up screaming from behind, puts her hand in the cart... and takes out a purse.... I had not even noticed a purse... when I start asking the woman who is angry at hell and talking about having me arrested, and the two policemen and I realize what happened: In the shoving around of the exit the woman had her purse in her arm, and my pushing around trying to get out pushed with the cart the purse out of her arm and it fell inside the cart and I didn't notice and simply walked away and she realized a few seconds later when she saw me walking away with her purse in my cart and started screaming and mounting a mess claiming that I had stolen her purse, which caught the attention of the two policemen who were nearby.

And I was like having a hard time avoiding the sarcasm "Well, I am afraid I stole your purse by accident, ma'am".
I was trying to explain to them what truly happened, and trying to avoid my laughing... finally the policemen asked the woman if she wanted to press any charges and she thought a second and said no, its not worth it as she got the purse back... But she still thought I had tried to steal it.

How is it that I get myself into so much trouble?

The title of your thread had me going in another direction. I was thinking, poor, yoviher. He probably has the stomach flu... So I clicked on the thread to read about your mess, and only found a stolen purse.
Interesting, but not as graphic as I had pictured.

Between the title and the first paragraph, I thought you had spilled toner everywhere.

Well, I'm glad the woman came to her senses and didn't charge you but, honestly, I can completely see that happening, especially during holiday shopping. I get so rushed and confused at the grocery store, I cannot tell you how many times I've taken the wrong cart! (Has that ever happened to you?) Luckily, it never had someone's purse inside!

I'm surprised that the police even asked the women if she wanted to press charges.

Seems pretty obvious that it was an accident.

lol, That's pretty funny. I have a friend who has pretty bad luck, but he's never had anything like that happen. I am glad she didn't press charges. No clue what I would have done in the situation... LOL
