Can you believe it!! We had a white Christmas on the gulf coast of Louisiana!!!! And it wasn't just little flurries........it was real snow. The snow was twirling around in the air with HUGE flakes!
It came down rather hard for quite a while too!!!
People down here don't know what to do when it snows so several of the bridges were closed. There were several wrecks on over-passes and the bridges......I guess they just weren't slowing down?!
The good thing is that nobody appeared to be hurt!

It was wonderful.....my parents live an hour away, which is where we went today and my 4 year old has never seen snow before so he stayed the night there tonight. He played in the snow for about 5 hours today......forgot all about what Santa had brought him!
My mom said he was going to get sick but IMO, he's probably not going to see snow again until HE has children and he's going to get sick anyway so he might as well have fun doing it!
(Don't think that I let him run around half naked, he was very well bundled....I even brought several extra pairs of socks and gloves and changed them regularly.)

Oh it was so beautiful and such a treat.........the best Christmas ever!!!!!!

You have to remember......we are soooooo close to the Gulf that this only happens about every 15-20 years!!!! (We usually only get hurricanes
- we were hit REAL bad by Andrew!)

I took some picts....I'll try to get them up in a few days!

I hope you all had a great Christmas!!!!

Yay how exciting - we had a bit of snow where I was on Christmas Eve - gorgeous isn't it? Makes it feel a bit more like Christmas, I think! Can't wait to see pictures!

Yes, it does make it feel more like Christmas!!!! My husband spent all of his Christmas holidays in OK with his grandparents and always had snow. He told me it was nice but didn't bother him that we didn't get it down here. Well.........after today, I think he's missing it!!
I wish it could snow for us every year on Christmas day!!!

(A few years ago, we had shorts on for Christmas! - You probably did too!

One Christmas I spent in Peru where it was summer... tradition there is to open presents the day before Christmas so come Christmas Day we had nothing to open, it was hot and we spent the day on the beach. That was WEIRD!

Anyway... I think it might be time for you and me to move someplace where it snows! Ah, that'd be lovely - though those who do live those places don't seem impressed!

You know.....I really don't think that I would get tired of snow. I just kinda go with the flow!

I can't even imagine spending Christams on the beach!
I think that I would feel weird about it too!

Yay! I'm happy for you, but especially for your son. Little kids enjoy the snow so much. I always end up outside making a snowman with my son...

Carla, where are you located? If you're on our East side.......it's coming!!

It started out as sleet, then a few flurries, then nothing. I was sooooo disappointed. Then we got more sleet, then heavier sleet and I just gave up. We were sitting at the table eating today when I looked out of the window and it was SNOWING!!!!!!!
My entire family left their meals and went outside to play! The whole neighborhood ended up outside to play!!!!!!!!!!

So much fun!!! I'm sending you snow vibes!!!!!!

Hi I am in Thomasville GA along the Ga/Fla line. I would be so thrilled if we got snow here. Like you said earlier we only get snow here like every 10 years or so. I think we are in the 10th year so maybe we will. Here's hoping anyway.
and keep those snow vibes coming.

Alissa, where are you located? I can't even imagine not playing in the snow everyday if I had it available to me!!!!!!
You're probably right though, after the first few years everyone probably gets tired of it. I still can't see myself getting tired of it though!!!!

Carla - you're on our east side, I'm pretty sure that it's going your way. Check the weather channel, from what I saw earlier, you should get it tomorrow night!!!!!!!!
Oh, if you get it I'll get so excited for you!

I'm still excited for me!!!!!! I just love the snow!! It's so magical! I couldn't get into the holiday spirit this season but the snow made my day! Watching my son play in it was the best. We took pics and video b.c I know none of my in-laws in OK will believe me......we called them and they said "yeah right.....prob just flurries". They know how much I want snow in the winter, I don't blame them for thinking that I'm exaggerating!!

Here's my Christams snow vibes for you: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tennessee? I'm not sure where I'd like to go, I think I'd enjoy all the snow but I'd start complaining about the cold, lol!

Hey guys, I'm waaaay up north in southern Minnesota, and some of you have more snow than I do!!!!
We only have a light dusting of snow covering the ground. IMO, snow wouldn't be so bad if we didn't get these horrible cold fronts that come with it. I'll use this week as an example of what I mean: It snowed a little bit on Monday and the temperature was about 32 degrees. Unfortunately, the snow was ahead of a cold front, so for the next 4 or 5 days we had wind chills of 30 degrees below zero!!!!
That is very dangerously cold weather. I can only speak for myself, but these cold fronts are a major reason why I'm not too impressed to live in an area where it snows every winter.

Well, I want to go to Tennesse because I love the Smokey Mountains. I've been vacationing there since I was a child. It's beautiful year round and always clean. Unlike here, there are great views everywhere! All I see here is swamp, swamp and more swamp.

Candie, you got much more snow than we had!! We only had enough to cover the ground..........definately not enough to make a snowman......especially one as big as yours!
It will probably be another week or 2 before I get the pics up. I own a photo lab so, mine will be printed last (after the rush)
.......and we have New Years plans then I have to figure out how to post pictures.
I've never posted pics before......this should be interesting!

I'm so gald I along with all of my cat friends who never get snow where we live had a great Christmas surprise!!!!!!
If only it could happen more often...........
