(dont worry, i think she has an owner so we've ben turfing her out!)

no sign of the cat today, i think being found by a group of noisy children has scared her back into hiding. we heard cats mating last night so i guess shes not quite ready to come home. i'm going for another search now.

my days have become waking at 8 and looking for the cat whilst checking for signs eg has she eaten the food.

10 i go back to bed

12 i get up again and put up flyers, ask people and look

8 i put out food

12 i do a final look then go to bed at 2.

not to mention the searches my parents and boyfriend have been doing. the vets told us not to worry because she'll come home when her hormones have calmed down but i'm just not sure.

should i be worried about the other cat scent marking? will it scare mav off? she keeps miaowing outside the door and is on the roof at the moement trying to break back in. (the stranger cat, not mav)

my brother came downstairs and said i better check my room. went up and theres a tuxedo kitty in my bed!

he/she must have scaled the wall and come in through the bathroom window!

think it must be a frisky male looking for mav. cheered me up a little because he was so sweet!

Maverick Kitten, have you seen this site? www.catsinthebag.org
It helped a woman in my town get her indoor-only kitty back after the cat had been missing 5 weeks. You'll find trapping tips and psychological profiles that may help you figure out how best to trap your kitten. I think that you'll have to try a humane trap - ask around at vet's offices, sometimes they have them. The worst part of doing this is that you will probably trap other cats before you get your Mav back. When this happens, you have to decide if you will just release the cat, or take it to the vet to get spay/neutered and then release (since it will probably be a homeless or feral kitty).

Hope the site helps - it must be so frustrating to see Maverick and not be able to grab her! Good luck!!!

Been trying to write this post for an hour but Maverick wont let me…

SHE’S BACK!!!!!

My mum opened the door this morning to have a look and she walked in like nothings happened! She was very thirsty and had lost her tummy but looks very healthy. She also has a bit of a limp and her claws are worn down so I’ll let her have a sleep then take her to the vets tomorrow.

She’s purring like an engine and snuggling in her new pink fleecy blanket we’d got her for Christmas.

Thank you to everyone for your help and support. I would have gone to pieces without you all!

At the kitty's beck and call
Brilliant!!!
. Take some time to snuggle with your baby - we understand if we don't see much of you!!!!! It sounds like she's had quite an adventure - hopefully when she's been spayed she'll be more of a homebod!!

I'm so happy for you
- now you've just got to see what your other visitor does. Will s/he still come back now that Mav's home?

Good girl Maverick.

yes he/shes still there. mav tried to stare him out but it didnt work. feel guilty but i cant just take in a cat i'm sure has an owner. maybe i should explain to it that i dont leave fresh prawns out every day of the week?

if its still there tomorrow i'll take it with us to the vet to check for a microchip and have a check up.

mavs done nothing but sleep since she got back. (apart from miaow and snuggle) my little brother wants to swap her for the tuxedo cat, he says that ones not so boring and actually likes him. i had to cover mav's little ears so she wasnt offended!

Welcome Home Maverick!

Maybe you could trade your little brother for that tuxedo kitty?

Don't be surprised to see some odd behavior from her. Many times they go into shock once they are home. Getting her to the vet is a good idea for tomorrow and keep that spay appointment! Even though she may be with kittens, those kittens may be diseased if the male had an illness.

I am so glad that she is home. I am also very glad that she will be going to the vet tomorrow also. So, she just walked in? Your thought that she might be getting closer to home was right. LOL

Well, goodluck. MyRage hasn't really tried to get out since we got her fixed. The only time I had some trouble with her was when Myth was outside. Rage kept darting out every time I opened the door. She hasn't done that since Myth's been in the house again.

she seems very much her old self already, just very tired. but i'm not going to take that at face value just in case.

i'm going to ask my vets opinion as to whether she should continue with a pregnancy if she has mated. if she does i have already found good homes for the kittens (we would keep one or two ourselves and the others wold go to grandparents, my college teacher and some close friends).as my boyfriend had joint ownership of her i have to take his wishes into consideration too. not going to decide yet what to do, i'll wait and see what they say.

i'm also going to make a donation to our local animal shelter as thanks for being so supportive and kind to me. its good karma to give thanks when things turn ot ok.
