She has probably been having the time of her life and doesn't see yet why it should change. But I am sure she will come to you soon. I am so glad that at least you know she is alive and OK.
we saw her again today on a nearby building site and there were sightings of her last night playing with a big gray tom cat.Originally Posted by gemlady
Glad to hear you found her. I wish you lots of luck in getting her home.
Jasper was gone for a few days. My worries were from the deep snow and subzero cold we were having.
rang the rspca and they wouldnt lend me a trap because they said other cats could get caught in it. was most unhelpful. he advised me to get a neighbour to trap the cat in a room in thier house even though the cat is living in woodland. if i could do that i'd trap her in my own house. and he told me to tell the neighbours not to feed her as she'll come home when shes hungrey, he didnt seem to understand that i cant tell everone in a 3mile radius not to put food out and many people feed their own pets out side. i've spoken to everyone i can and put up posters everywhere.Originally Posted by hissy
Can you borrow a trap? And set it up to trap her? Or can you leave one of your doors or windows cracked so she can come in? (if that is safe?)
Take a can of canned cat food and fling it down by your back door- to coax her in to eat it. Leave the door open and see if she will come in on her own. If not for the snow, she would be following her own scent trail back to you, the best you can do is still use the soiled litter to bring her within range. The problem is once they are outside, they become quite hard to recapture. They have tasted the freedom that their instincts know have been missing in their life. She is also in danger of picking up a disease, are her vaccinations current?
When she does come home, don't whisk her right away to the vet, let her decompress first, just keep her sequestered in another room for a few days then take her to the vet and get her spayed- good luck!
