She has probably been having the time of her life and doesn't see yet why it should change. But I am sure she will come to you soon. I am so glad that at least you know she is alive and OK.

we were out looking for an hour and 15mins but no luck. anything we did see ran away before we could get near then our batterey cut out in the torch. going to go search again when the torch is charged.

myrage/ jennyranson - unfortunatly shes with a tom cat so theres not much chance of me fending them off her! hopefully he's feeding her up a little.

when i saw her she gave me that look she does when she knows shes being naughty but has no intention of stopping eg. when trying to climb on the roof or drink from the toilet.

maybe i'll get lucky and she'l come back by herself tonight?

I wish you luck. I hope that you manage to get her in tonight. It's raining here, maybe if the rain comes down to you she won't be interested in getting a soaking and decide to come home.

I'm keeping you in my thoughts.

That reminds me of when Rage was out. I just got lucky at one point. I had treats in my pocket. And she was sitting on a tire (It was just starting to get light out). He was sitting below her, and the other behind her. My hubby had gone up behind them (They were in a little spot between two buildings with a fence stopping US from getting through, but not them). I moved really slowly towards Rage, talking softly, and lovingly. When ever she looked like she was about to move, I froze, and tried to soothe her. I did finally get close enough, but she was on the other side of the fence, and hubby was behind a tree, he couldn't actually get to her. So I reached in my pocket, the tom was growling. I threw some treats on the ground around them (she was already getting ready to jump). The boys looked towards the sound, wich she did also. As soon as she wasn't looking at me, I lunged towards her, landing on the fence, but getting her. I stuffed her in my coat, and ran inside. The boys were last seen happily eating the treats I threw at them. She seemed shocked that they let her get taken away. It was cute. Those toms really loved her
(Tomcat love I mean... LOL) Goodluck, I hope you can get her in.

Glad to hear you found her. I wish you lots of luck in getting her home.

Jasper was gone for a few days. My worries were from the deep snow and subzero cold we were having.

we saw her again today on a nearby building site and there were sightings of her last night playing with a big gray tom cat.

she's getting closer to home but so far we havent been able to catch her. she was on her own this time so hoping the tom has left her alone and she'll come back.

a group of local children on bikes saw her today and called us but we only caught a glimpse of her, think the noise scared her off.

does this mean shes coming back by herself? what if we cant catch her, will she become a feral?

Your Maverick is in my thoughts & prayers. What an awful thing to happen on Christmas Day! I'm glad you spotted her!

every day we've spotted her shes been about a five minute walk closer than she was before so i'm hoping today or tomorrow she'll be back.

shes literally 2 back gardens away!

i'm at my wits ened trying to think what to do to get her back. tonight around midnight i'm going to go for a walk and try to spot her again and leave a trail of used kitty litter from the building site to the back garden. we've also been leaving out bedding and our sweaty clothes hoping she'll come back.

will she get bored of being a stray? if she doesnt come back tonight i'm going to beg or borrow a humane trap and try to trap her. she must be cold and hungrey and as scared as she must be i cant understand why she cant jump the fence and come home.

thanks for your thoughts and prayers, maybe tonight will be the night?

went out looking for her again for around an hour. heard cats mating but no sign.

we left a trail of litter leading from where we last saw her to our garden and put a big dish of her favourite foods in the garden too.

giving up hope of getting her back. shes so close but i've got no idea how to get her. going to call the rspca as soon as they open and ask them for advice.

any ideas how to get her back now i've found her?

Sorry I have no advice other than whatever Hissy's said (she knows everything
) but I just wanted to see how things were going, and that I'm hoping that she'll come home soon!

Can you borrow a trap? And set it up to trap her? Or can you leave one of your doors or windows cracked so she can come in? (if that is safe?)

Take a can of canned cat food and fling it down by your back door- to coax her in to eat it. Leave the door open and see if she will come in on her own. If not for the snow, she would be following her own scent trail back to you, the best you can do is still use the soiled litter to bring her within range. The problem is once they are outside, they become quite hard to recapture. They have tasted the freedom that their instincts know have been missing in their life. She is also in danger of picking up a disease, are her vaccinations current?

When she does come home, don't whisk her right away to the vet, let her decompress first, just keep her sequestered in another room for a few days then take her to the vet and get her spayed- good luck!

The RSPCA is an excellent idea. As you know where she is, they may be able to give you some tips and may even be able to help you recapture her. They are very skilled at this type of operation. Why not give them a call sooner rather than later - as you must be very worried now and this could help you.

I'm thinking of you and hoping that Maverick comes back soon.

rang the rspca and they wouldnt lend me a trap because they said other cats could get caught in it. was most unhelpful. he advised me to get a neighbour to trap the cat in a room in thier house even though the cat is living in woodland. if i could do that i'd trap her in my own house. and he told me to tell the neighbours not to feed her as she'll come home when shes hungrey, he didnt seem to understand that i cant tell everone in a 3mile radius not to put food out and many people feed their own pets out side. i've spoken to everyone i can and put up posters everywhere.

yes she's up to date with everything, flea, injections worming etc. my only worry is she had a cold when she left and she could get sick from it.

we've put out cat frood, prawns, tuna, chicken etc but shes doesnt appear to have even been in the garden.

i'm trying to ring other organisations to borrow a trap, if not i'll have to buy one.

I'm pulling for you, Sweetie.. I am sure she will come back home soon.. Cats are so smart.

got out years ago for the entire night. She was not spayed at the time either, (still a baby, but beginning to go into heat). She came home, walked in the house as if nothing happened.. and was not pregnant.

As far as these organizations, they can be extremely frustrating
. Just keep doing what you're doing. She'll come home soon enough

I'm sorry the RSPCA were less than helpful. Another link that I came across when trying to find out whether my feral had been reported missing by anyone was this one http://www.catchat.org/lost.html

The top part of the page gives advice on lost and found cats. The bottom gives links to organisations and pet detective type people and then below that are links by area to places like Battersea Dogs Home (that also deal with cats).

I don't know whether it's any use to you, but they may have contact with people like Hissy in your area who could help you with a trap or something. Your idea of trying the local vets to see if they have any contacts is a good one too.

Very best wishes to you in managing to get you kitty to come home.

Sorry to hear she has not made it home yet. You can hire wire cage fox traps from vermin control people in the UK - I did it, and they are perfect for trapping cats too.
